It’s been basically a whole year now since moving to PA and it feels like we’ve spent almost half of it traveling 😂 goes to show how mobile of a lifestyle we’ve adopted at this point… I’ve grown up moving around a lot due to personal circumstances and so it’s always been difficult settling at one place for me. I’ve always had a desire to grow in the community in where I stay though, so naturally at this point we’ve made friends all over the country and we make it a point to visit our people. It isn’t the traveling that’s restoring for me (it’s actually pretty exhausting), it’s the relationships I’ve made along the way that I get to reconnect with and makes my heart feel so full.

A couple weeks ago, we were able to visit Hawaii to do just that. Reconnect with family, friends, have amazingggg food, discover new spots (that matcha was so good btw), enjoy the calming atmosphere that Hawaii provides with her nature and landscapes. It was a good trip overall ☺️

All these shots were made on btw. Best photo purchase I’ve ever made.

Part II of our Paris/Bordeaux trip ✌🏻- small reflection, Paris felt a bit like NY where every street, corner, alleyway had a bunch of new restaurants and things to look at. Only it def felt much cleaner there than NY for sure. Very much enjoyed our time there! Only regret was not going to watch Sinner and Alcaraz for the Roland Garros finals 😑

Hellooo… 🫣

Wow it’s been a while hehe. Just got back from vacation - went to Bordeaux/Paris for my wife’s conference and let’s just say… many things happened 🤪 can’t really compile all my thoughts and pics in one post tbh, but this was a well-needed getaway. Feeling refreshed and motivated. One thing I will say that may not surprise you is we probably averaged 20,000 steps a day traveling around the city because we too stingy and health-conscious to uber around the area LOL hence why I got sick when I came back to the States because my body was just v exhausted.

2024 was a year of transition - one of many ups and downs, which also explains why I haven’t been as active in sharing photos. Still documenting my life on film and digital because that’s important to me and I don’t think that’ll ever go away. But I’ve def gotten tired of posting photos on social media for the hype. From now on, whatever gets posted here is because these moments in my life matter to me and brings some type of emotion in me.

And if there is anything that I’ve learned this past year it’s that relationship and connection matter to me a lot. Many of you who know me might be in disbelief because of how introverted I can be in my everyday life, but it’s been a value of mine basically my whole life. I’m glad Lyd and I could live out this core value of ours together this past 2024.

*Tip for the new year: instead of just setting new goals for the new year, consider thinking about how those goals are connected to your values in life. Life has been much, much more fulfilling that way - living a values-based live vs. goals-based life.

As some of you may know, Lyd finished up her Ph.D. program this past year and so we have officially moved up north for her post-doc. I will be continuing my hours for licensure as a mental health therapist and locking in this new year. 2025 is going to be a scary, yet exciting, year for us as we navigate new relationships, a new landscape, while also rekindling old connections that got lost due to distance. However, in the midst of the unknown, we carry in our hearts the relationships that were made in Houston and leave with full hearts. This is not goodbye! We will certainly visit from time to time, just probably not during the summer 🥵

To the people who have poured into us and have modeled Christ’s love to us: thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Keep fighting the good fight and may relationship + connection be at the core of what we all do.

That one time when we literally walked around SF for I think what was over 20 miles because we didn’t want to spend money on public transportation and wanted to get as many steps in as possible before stuffing our mouths with SF’s finest cuisines. Felt like old times when we were dating in Chicago and people would look at us crazy because our version of an “ideal” date was walking around/exploring the city until the sun went down, even in the midst of snow and freezing weather. This is why no one likes vacation-ing with us 😅

Anyway, we visited SF a couple months back for a dear friend’s wedding and got to have a whole day of exploring the city for ourselves. So of course I got the 35mm camera out and chased after the sunlight. Light hits so well in the bay area and you’ll see what I mean as you scroll through my post. And wait until you get to my last frame - one of my favorite snaps that took place right at the peak of my friend’s wedding. Beautiful.

Was a good time reuniting with old Wheaton alum friends, meeting new ones (got to meet one of my role models in the wedding photography world ), chasing light, eating good food, and exploring SF. We’ll def be back 🩶

Green green green, that’s all I see and all I ever want to see around me~

Throwback to the day when I got to be surrounded by a whole matcha field in Jeju. I dream of maybe owning my own matcha farm one day? Jkjk, unless I can get my wife on board…? 🤔
