01/03/2025
2024 was a year of transition - one of many ups and downs, which also explains why I haven’t been as active in sharing photos. Still documenting my life on film and digital because that’s important to me and I don’t think that’ll ever go away. But I’ve def gotten tired of posting photos on social media for the hype. From now on, whatever gets posted here is because these moments in my life matter to me and brings some type of emotion in me.
And if there is anything that I’ve learned this past year it’s that relationship and connection matter to me a lot. Many of you who know me might be in disbelief because of how introverted I can be in my everyday life, but it’s been a value of mine basically my whole life. I’m glad Lyd and I could live out this core value of ours together this past 2024.
*Tip for the new year: instead of just setting new goals for the new year, consider thinking about how those goals are connected to your values in life. Life has been much, much more fulfilling that way - living a values-based live vs. goals-based life.
As some of you may know, Lyd finished up her Ph.D. program this past year and so we have officially moved up north for her post-doc. I will be continuing my hours for licensure as a mental health therapist and locking in this new year. 2025 is going to be a scary, yet exciting, year for us as we navigate new relationships, a new landscape, while also rekindling old connections that got lost due to distance. However, in the midst of the unknown, we carry in our hearts the relationships that were made in Houston and leave with full hearts. This is not goodbye! We will certainly visit from time to time, just probably not during the summer 🥵
To the people who have poured into us and have modeled Christ’s love to us: thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. Keep fighting the good fight and may relationship + connection be at the core of what we all do.
