Chet Davis Photography I love capturing the beauty of our world and sharing it with others. I hope you enjoy what I capture and share with you. Chet Davis

I love experiencing the wonder of our planet; the amazing animals, friendly people, and lovely landscapes. I've been immersed in digital storytelling (video making and photography) for more than 35 years, having taught workshops and classes to help people realize their own fulfillment through a lens. I see photography and videography as an opportunity to capture the feeling I am experiencing in th

at moment as a way to share it with others. I know that when I am looking more closely at the world around me, I am definitely seeing more of it - and experiencing life on a more grand scale. I am grateful firstly that this craft has allowed me to be more present in this life, and secondly provided me with the means to share it with others. I make many of my photos available for those who wish to experience these feelings and moods in their own space.

Spring is often very beautiful, not only in the surrounding countryside but also in our backyard. We have a lot of Cala Lillies that are blooming and photogenic.

I enjoy capturing them in the morning when the dew can still be seen on them. The mixture of bright colors and dark greens.

On this first day of Spring 2026 I am happy to share this trio of Plumeria. I captured these beautiful flowers on the island of Hawaii - one of my favorite places on the planet.

Over the years I have seen different variations of this flower from these white petals with deep golden centers to pink petals. I've also learned that in some parts of the world the flower is known as Frangipani. They are beautiful flowers with a magical scent.

On our trip to Oahu last month my wife and I joined a small group that took us just under a mile off-shore to "Turtle Canyon". It's a reef off Waikiki Beach where many turtles congregate as it's a cleaning station where small fish clean the algae off their shells. Usually the fish will swim away as we approach. Apparently some of the excursions apparently feed the fish - we actually swam through schools of small fish - that's where I captured this photo on my GoPro camera.

While visiting the Gloria Ferrer Vineyards in the Carneros Valley outside Sonoma, California on a sunny day I captured this photo in between sips of their Sparkling Rose. I love the bubbles in the glass, the logo and the background in soft focus.

On our visit to Oahu last month we got to see the power of the North Shore surf in action. As we rounded the top of the island, moving from the east to north shore this was our first stop - Kawela Bay. We got out and enjoyed watching the wave action for a few minutes and I captured this photo. Having been tossed around in small swells I can only imagine the force of these big waves. Yikes!

I made this photo from the shore of Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu last month. I saw the sun doing down and waited until the catamaran at right was near enough to the sun to be in frame. The people in the foreground were standing on a breakwater and I chose to keep them in frame to add depth. I like the thin cloud in front of the sun as well.

Last month on Oahu we walked the beach to enjoy the sunrise. In my long lens (telephoto) I noticed the wind whipping the waves off in the distance as the water struck the outer reef. I captured this image of the sun rising above a line of clouds on the horizon with the wind whipped waves greeting the new day.

I was unaware that there are three different phases of twilight. I captured this image during "Civil Twillight" which is just 20-30 minutes just before first sunrise.

This was the view from our 4th floor balcony at Punalu'u on the island of Oahu. I had just woken up and wondered what the sunrise would be like that morning. I went out on the balcony and captured this image, loving the trees against the range of the colors in the morning sky.

On our trip to Oahu, Hawaii earlier this month we stayed at a hotel on the beach in Waikiki that had a wonderful view, a wrap around balcony that included the sea as well as the mountains.

I captured this image at sunrise looking over Kapiolani Park with the Koʻolau mountain range in the background. I love the think green belt of the park with a number of palm trees raising above, unmistakably tropical... with the silhouette of the mountains far behind and a small collection of the tall Waikiki hotels at left.

Love the architecture of the famous cathedrals but I was reminded that we can have a similar experience right close to home. We attended one of the Candlelight concerts this past week in San Francisco at St. Ignatius Cathedral. Lovely music from a string quartet in this beautiful, candlelit building - captured on my iPhone.
