As I’m getting excited to document another celebration on a boat along the Bay, I wanted to share some favorites from the first wedding I shot on the Hornblower last year 🛥️

Jess + Paul’s wedding was so beautiful and quintessentially SF with Karl the Fog present and even a bit of rain that showed up during their vows.

They were married by the captain of the boat and even incorporated a handfasting ceremony, which comes from a Celtic tradition where the couple’s hands are bound together with a rope to signify their shared future together. It’s also where the term “tying the knot” originated from.

During their engagement session, I told Katherine + Jake to pretend I wasn’t there, to enjoy one another’s presence, and to frolic (yes frolic!) in the sand.

And let me tell you, no words can express how much they understood the assignment–I’ll let these images speak for themselves 😍

Today’s their wedding day at the beautiful Outdoor Art Club and I’m so excited to document their joyful celebration!

Sometimes Instagram just makes us feel like it’s only about posting pretty photos.

As a wedding photographer, what I feel is even more important is the story tied to the images we create.

The 6 years it took for M+M to get to this point. The long distance relationship, living in different countries and time zones.

These photos represent more than just pretty photos. It signifies the beginning of their next chapter. The start of their lives finally living together, and in the same country and time zone.

These photos will be a reminder of everything they overcame and achieved to get to where they are now.

Thank you for the trust Isabelle Del Rosario & Mel Tome 💗

We fit into each other’s lives like two perfect puzzle pieces, we are alike and different in all the right ways and have a sense of ease and calm between each other.

This is what Cassie + Drew told me when I asked how their friends would describe them as a couple.

During their engagement session, I could immediately see what they meant and how well they complemented one another.

Their go-to date night is dinner and a show, usually in the North Beach area, which is so fitting since we walked around North Beach for their session. They also happened to be heading to a concert that evening, and funnily enough, I was headed to the same concert!

For those who are curious, the concert was Doechii at the Bill Graham and she was amazing of course.

Cassie + Drew tie the knot today and I couldn’t be more excited to document their joyful garden wedding at the Outdoor Art Club 🌳

Happy wedding day Cassie & Andrew Sibert 💐

My favorite types of engagement sessions are the kinds where I am basically invited as a third wheel to one of your dates. That’s what Jess + Mav envisioned for their session with me and it was so much fun. They told me that as a couple, they love a cozy walk paired with a fun cocktail or delicious ice cream treat, and they opted for the latter. We got some ice cream at Salt & Straw and then walked around downtown Burlingame, followed by a nearby park, as they spent a lot of early dates in this area. Mav brought along his Fujifilm and he and Jess even snapped pictures of one another, since Mav said he’s usually the one behind the camera taking pictures of Jess haha.

Why are these my favorite? The emotional connection they had to that area made the session that much more special and they felt more at ease. Especially since they were just doing things they normally would do, but in front of a camera. It was so cool seeing them recall the memories of their dates together while preparing for their future together. We love a full-circle moment 😍

Today they’re getting married at Mavericks House - And how perfect is it that the groom’s name is in fact Maverick?! It was definitely meant to be!

Happy wedding day Jessi Cheung Maverick ❤️

Lola Luz 🕊️

Zambales is a beautiful coastal province in central Luzon where my Lola Luz raised her family. It’s where my mom grew up, and where my sister and I were born. It was bittersweet to return to my mom’s hometown under such sad circumstances, but I’m grateful my mom, sisters and I made the trip back together. How special it was to celebrate her life surrounded by family, and to spend more time in the part of the Philippines I’ll always be connected to 🤎

The first photo was taken in 2015.
The rest of the photos were taken a few weeks ago.

It’s always so special for me to be able to witness and document how connected and in love my couples can be. David + Michael’s engagement session at the San Francisco Botanical Garden was so much fun as we got to explore. They truly made my job so easy, and I mean how cute are they? 😍

I’m so excited to be able to document their wedding today at in Healdsburg 🍷 happy wedding day + 🎉

It’s always a huge honor to be able to photograph any important period in a person’s life. But when my clients continue to choose me to document multiple life milestones, I can’t help but feel humbled with an immense sense of gratitude.

I photographed their wedding a couple of years ago, and last year Celeste + EB trusted me to capture maternity portraits for them, as they prepared to enter another special chapter together.

Their adorable baby has since made his debut into the world, and I already had the privilege of capturing photos of them as a family, which I will share at another time.

If you’re interested in working with a photographer who can grow with you through every season of life, I’d love to be that person for your family.

The vibes at the Migvana wedding celebration were *immaculate* These two lovers eloped a year prior and decided to plan an epic garden party at the scenic to celebrate their union with their friends and family.

They kicked off the celebration with live music by the talented .cruise and the couple even performed a song for their guests (obsessed!) The evening ended with a legendary dance party, which deserves a post of its own which I’ll share at another time.

With the assistance of the expert planners at mixed in with the gorgeous florals by and the creative signage designed by their friend .msncy, it’s safe to say their celebration was a beautiful success.

My client (the groom here) was the one who lent me his Mamiya 645 to test beforehand so I would be able to take some medium format portraits of him and his beautiful bride Maddy on their wedding day.

While I wasn’t able to take as many images using this camera on the wedding day as I hoped to, I was happy to have been able to capture a few gems like these here. 😍

Manual focusing on the prism finder was a bit more difficult than I anticipated, but there’s just something about film photography that makes even the softer focused images feel special.

Also, how dreamy is this spot that Peter discovered just a day or two before the big day? That cherry blossom tree was perfection ✨
