Meteora, Greece 🇬🇷 The monasteries sit on rock pillars that rise straight out of the plain, and for centuries the only way up was a rope net and a winch 🪢. Six are still active, reachable now by stairs cut into the stone, and each keeps its own closing day so it pays to check before you drive up. Kalabaka sits at the bottom of all of it, close enough that you can watch the light land on the towers from the breakfast table 🌄.
