If you haven’t booked engagement photos yet, here’s my honest case for them- especially with the photographer shooting your wedding.

It’s the most low-pressure way to get comfortable in front of a camera before the day that actually matters. You get to meet your photographer, feel out their style, and stop feeling like you don’t know what to do with your hands- all before your wedding day. And beyond the practical side of it, engagement sessions capture something that your wedding photos can’t: the anticipation. The excitement of being engaged, before everything shifts into planning mode. That season of relationship deserves to be documented too.

This is what intention looks like on a table.

This editorial was designed and shot at in Carmel Valley - one of the most beautiful properties in all of Northern California. Everything here was considered: the tabletop lamps, the patterned linen, the way the floral spill rather than sit. And then there were the artichokes - an unexpected touch that made the whole design feel distinctly California. When design is this thoughtful, my job is simply to get out of the way and let it speak.
