the little details before it all began — his and her vows tied with silk ribbon, a splash of gucci bloom, and the rings that would seal it all

this is the moment r saw j for the first time that day. i love shooting these reveals in black and white — it strips everything back to just the emotion, and you can feel his whole world shift in that split second

a live guitarist, a garden full of their favorite people, and j walking toward her forever — cerritos through the cypress trees at hastings house made for the most cinematic backdrop

shooting through the greenery during their vows — sometimes the best shots come from getting out of the way and letting the garden do the framing

their first kisses as husband and wife, tucked into this sunlit corner of the garden

soft blues and blush in the bouquet, and the rings that made it official — small details, big feelings

just the two of them for a minute before it’s back to the party — r+j soaking it all in

his vows, her vows, and the little touches that made the afternoon feel like theirs alone

hastings house garden is endlessly photogenic — every corner felt like its own little set

a quiet kiss tucked into the hydrangeas — these in-between moments are always my favorite to catch

the celebration continued at pasta moon with crab bibs, fresh pasta, and a whole lot of laughter — the perfect intimate ending to their day

when creating the motion blur effect, my goal is to capture what your san francisco city hall wedding actually felt like, not just what it looked like.

the emotions that only last for a fleeting moment. the way your dress falls as you twirl beneath the rotunda. the joy that spills out in laughter. the quiet in-between moments that pass by in an instant.

for amber’s sf city hall elopement, i leaned into a filmy look by intentionally adding grain to create something that feels timeless, nostalgic, and like a memory.

last thursday, after second shooting a wedding for a friend, alex, s+k, and i made the two-hour drive to mount rainier for their engagement session.

i had been picturing sunshine, warm weather, and that dreamy golden hour glow that mount rainier is known for this time of year… but instead, we were greeted by thick fog covering the entire mountain 😂

when we arrived, s+k asked, “are you still able to shoot in these conditions?” i laughed and said, “absolutely—it’ll just be a different vibe.”

i ended up loving these photos even more than what i originally imagined.

the fog transformed the landscape into something so peaceful and cinematic. the wildflowers were in full bloom, the mountains disappeared into the clouds, and everything felt incredibly still. it’s one of those reminders that some of the most beautiful moments happen when things don’t go according to plan.

after all my travels, i’m convinced mount rainier is one of the most breathtaking places in the world. every time i get the opportunity to photograph a destination engagement session in washington, i’m reminded why i keep coming back.

s+k were worried about being awkward in front of the camera. i told them not to worry; i direct my couples from head to toe! they ended up feeling super comfortable and we all had so much fun🤩
