First post of 2026.

There’s a bunch of pretty photos of life and love that I haven’t shared from 2025. Mainly because I’ve been busy living and taking care of myself.

Life has been everything but perfect. And that’s ok. It simply means life is happening.

Sharing a photo of this couple because they’re the first to kick off my year of work. First wedding, first photoshoot of 2026. If 2026 turns out to be anything like this wholesome, beautiful couple, I’ll be the happiest human on earth.

Taking it as a sign that it WILL be a great year. It has to be.

I may sound like a broken record, being on social media has felt a little too heavy for my nervous system. I’ve struggled with anxiety most of my life. But lately, with all that’s happening in our world, it’s been activated a little past my breaking point. While this platform has changed a lot, there are snippets of goodness present. Especially with all the connections I’ve made and continue to make through it.

However, my capacity for the negativity, bad news and oversharing of information is slim.

To take care of myself and better serve my current clients in this very busy season of mine, I am taking a break from social media.

My break starts today.
More than likely this break will last until the end of October.
Possibly longer?

By no means am I looking for any form of sympathy. At all. I am taking care of myself, and am ok right now. Since my business has partially relied on this little platform, it only seems appropriate to make this announcement with transparency.

Every now and then I’ll pop in briefly to make an announcement or an update. During this time, the best way to contact me or inquire will be through email or my website (link on my profile).

In the meantime, I hope you take care of yourself, and your little bubble.

With love and gratitude,
Rosa

A teeny tiny preview of N + M’s wedding at the California Academy of Sciences this summer.

As much as this massive place reflects who they are (they love the sciences), they are both fun, giddy, warm like a cozy fire on a summer night, thoughtful, gentle and … zen-like.

They are a beautiful pair. And I loved documenting their day alongside

This year, I’ve photographed many weddings like N + M’s day: No bridesmaids or groomsmen. No grand entrances. No cake cutting. No long list of speeches.

From my point of view, couples are redefining what a wedding should look like. Not to be different, but because they’re choosing what feels true, intimate, and meaningful to them. Exactly how it should be.

And what I’ve noticed?
Love still shows up.

Whether a wedding day is traditional or not, what matters most is that it reflects you. Not what’s trending, not what’s expected. Just you.

And don’t forget to mix in some joy and fun with your people. That usually adds a little extra oomph and fun to your wedding photos (trust me).

I was going through some of my old work, and stumbled upon this special photoshoot. I’ve known the man in this photo since I was 18 years old. We made part of a friend group of around 10 people. Of the 10, only three of us (myself, him, and another girlfriend) remain and make the intentional effort to stay in one another’s life. We remain good friends. Even if that means we only gather once or twice per year.

We’ve seen one another go through hard times, some embarrassing moments (mainly of myself) and some good ones. The good times, luckily, have triumphed the bad.

Like this beautiful moment of him and his lovely wife before their baby arrived. I’d almost forgotten how this day felt and looked like. Although a couple of years have passed since these were taken, they served as a reminder of just how great and lovely life can be.

The more we move through life, the more we realize that ‘hard’ is just a part of the journey. It’s inevitable. But the more beautiful moments we create, the more we have to hold on to. Like memories, stories, and photos that will lift us when the hard times come.

In the chaos of life and the world, we forget to notice the small little details. The little details that will be missed 5, 10, 20 years from now.

One of my favorite things to document with family photoshoots are the little details. The way a baby holds their parents finger. Their little feet. Anything that we forget to notice and appreciate in the moment.

Life goes by to quickly to not appreciate the small things.

It’s not about the location. What it’s all about is the people surrounding you. The people present and playing witness in your life.

Scenes of an intimate wedding from many moons ago. Taken some time during the very start of this career. During a time where there was mostly self doubt. At the same time, a sense of drive to prove myself to others. Selling myself short. Allowing others to dictate my value. All because I had a hard time believing in myself. Even when some saw something in me and open their doors.

It’s been a journey.

This month of April marks my 14th year in this career. Looking back now, it’s a career that chose me.

I’ve met many amazing people in this journey. Made a plethora of connections with some incredible humans. Witnessed beautiful chapters in people’s lives. Seen children grow from babies to teenagers through the years.

This career isn’t for the faint of heart. When it’s good, it’s great. When it’s hard, it’s brutal. It is life.

And while nothing in life is certain, one thing I do know is that today and tomorrow, I continue to choose this career.

My favorite place in all California. To share it with longtime clients and new ones is meaningful.

Since we’re only five months away, putting it out there into the world ahead of time. Yosemite sessions will be happening in September. Tentative dates are September 5-7. Date can potentially change to the following week. I’ll have a more solid idea in the next few weeks.

Looking forward to it. Although, I wouldn’t mind if time slowed down because I’m not ready for September to get here.

Many of my families have asked, “what’s your favorite place to photograph?”

Hands down, the beach. At the same time, this is the one location that also brings the most worry. Worry that it’ll be too cold, or windy. NorCal beaches aren’t always the warmest. But they are the most fun for families. Hands down.

Something about the ocean waves, running around barefoot on sand, the wide space to runaround. There’s a sense of freedom. Of playfulness.

Really looking forward to more beach sessions soon.

Ten of my favorite moments from Jack and Sarah’s intimate wedding this summer near Point Reyes.

They had a small yet full wedding. You can’t tell from these 10 photos, but I’ve never seen so many guests cry at a wedding. Their vows were full of heart and heartfelt emotion. So much so, I also teared up but quickly composed myself because work.

One of the most thoughtful gestures were the individual notes written to every guest. One of my favorite photos is of just that moment. Of the brides grandfather reading the hand written note.

It’s the little things that mean the most.
