It's Day! 🌑 With the Artemis II mission currently underway, it’s an ideal time to revisit lunar photography. These images represent a collection of moon photographs captured over several years, highlighting the detail and presence of the night sky’s most prominent celestial body.

🌕🚀 Tracking the Path to the Moon — Artemis II

Artemis II is no longer just a launch… it’s a trajectory written across the sky.

From Earth, this is the same Moon—
but now, somewhere along that invisible arc, Orion and its crew are sweeping past it on a historic lunar flyby.

This image captures the target.
The destination.
The constant in a mission defined by motion.

From Apollo to Artemis…
we’re back in the lunar corridor—this time, laying the path to Mars.

The Bay Lights return next week to the western span of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge with a Grand Lighting celebration. ✨🌉

After years away, the Bay’s most iconic nightscape is about to shine again — and I can’t wait to photograph it lighting up the skyline.

The next total lunar eclipse will occur in the early hours of (Tomorrow Morning) March 3, 2026, for observers in North America!

A total lunar eclipse (commonly called a "blood moon") turns orange or red because Earth blocks direct sunlight, forcing light to filter through our atmosphere

Last night, the Bay Lights

The western span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge glowing in full brilliance — every vertical line etched against the night, every reflection stretching deep into the water.

After years of anticipation, The Bay Lights officially return full-time on Friday, March 20, 2026.

According to ILLUMINATE, the installation has been completely rebuilt as Bay Lights 360 — featuring a custom-engineered LED system designed to shine brighter, last longer, and transform the skyline for years to come.

Now, it’s back — permanent, reimagined, and more powerful than ever.

🌕 Total Lunar Eclipse — Tuesday March 3, 2026 🌑

Get ready for a stunning "Blood Moon" early morning sky show on Tuesday, March 3, 2026! A total lunar eclipse (when Earth’s shadow completely covers the Moon at its descending node) will take place — a rare celestial event visible across wide parts of the globe.

🕒 Key Times (U.S. time zones)

Penumbral Eclipse Begins: ~12:44 a.m. PST / 3:44 a.m. EST — Moon begins to dim.

Partial Eclipse Begins: ~1:50 a.m. PST / 4:50 a.m. EST — Earth’s shadow starts covering the Moon.

Totality (Blood Moon) Begins: ~3:04 a.m. PST / 6:04 a.m. EST — Moon fully inside Earth’s shadow, glowing red.

Totality Ends: ~4:03 a.m. PST / 7:03 a.m. EST — Red hue fades.
➡️ Tip: Start watching at least 60–90 minutes before totality to catch the partial phases too.

📍 Best Viewing Direction
Look toward the western to west-southwestern sky, where the Moon will be low on the horizon during the peak of the eclipse from most of North America. This is especially true if you’re on the West Coast — the Moon will be higher and easier to observe there.

✨ Where It’s Best Seen
The total eclipse will be well-visible from:
• Western North America (especially Pacific time areas)
• Australia & New Zealand
• East Asia & Pacific regions
Observers farther east (e.g., Eastern U.S.) may see totality low in the sky before moonset.

📸 No special equipment is needed — this lunar event is safe to view with the naked eye. But binoculars or a camera on a tripod will enhance your experience.

🌟 Mark your calendar and set those alarms — this blood moon is a celestial spectacle worth waking up for! 🌙

BREAKING: On Friday March 20, 2026, The Bay Lights return full time to the western span of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge with a Grand Lighting celebration. via ILLUMINATE

What began in 2013 as a bold vision by Ben Davis—who invited internationally acclaimed light artist Leo Villareal to create something unprecedented—became far more than a temporary art installation. It reshaped San Francisco’s skyline and sparked a cultural movement around large-scale public art.

Villareal’s The Bay Lights debuted as a 1.8-mile composition of 25,000 LEDs stretching across the bridge’s western span, transforming steel and suspension into living, moving light. It instantly redefined the Bay at night.

Now, in 2026, The Bay Lights 360 has been completely rebuilt from the ground up, powered by a custom-engineered LED system designed for longevity, brilliance, and performance for years to come.

For me—as someone who has photographed this bridge through fog, wind, and long exposures—that means more twilight sessions, more reflections shimmering across the water, and more moments where the skyline feels alive.

Some landmarks you photograph.

This one, you feel.
