Meet Christine Cummings.

She spent years in marketing. Thriving in it. Then she made the decision a lot of women make and almost nobody talks about honestly - she left to stay home with her kids.

No LinkedIn announcement for that one.

I’ve been thinking about why that is. We celebrate every career move, every promotion, every new title. But one of the hardest pivots a woman can make - choosing to step back from a career she built - gets a quiet exit and a new routine that starts at 6am and never really ends.

Christine showed up to her session in a blazer and Louboutins. I didn’t ask her to. That’s just who she is. The CEO of her home, fully dressed for the job.

It made me laugh and also kind of got me. Because that’s the thing - she didn’t leave herself behind when she left her career. She’s still that person. She just redirected all of it.

I think a lot of women in this season of life forget they deserve to be photographed too. Not just in the background of their kids’ pictures. Not just on vacation. But as themselves - right now, in the middle of everything, exactly as they are.

That’s what I want to capture.
