Lake Blanche

Hiked up into the Big Cottonwood canyon of the Wasatch mountains and made our way through some gorgeous fall color foliage. Was finally greeted at the summit to some spectacular emerald green snow melt waters of Lake Blanche, with some nice Sunshine and crisp morning air. The summit was powder dusted with some snow from last week that added a nice feel to the rocks. Very peaceful and beautiful up there.

Fall in the Wasatch mountain range of Utah

First of many pictures for this Fall season. The drive through Alpine loop was serene and beautiful with hues of Reds, yellows and oranges popping all over. Makes one appreciate the beauty of nature and being able to enjoy the 4 seasons that we Utahns are spectators to every year.

It was a colorful welcome into Fairbanks, AK.

A pleasant chilly evening that quickly turned to rain followed by hail that later finally brought a bit of sunshine creating this massive Rainbow over Fairbanks.

' The Painter's Palette '

These bubbling pots of nutrient and mineral rich geothermal springs support some of our Planet's most primitive life forms. And when allowed to grow without disturbing them, they manage to form some of the most impressive displays of colors. These Microbial mats created by the Thermophilic bacteria over thousands of years makes you wonder nature's sense of beauty, creativity and diversity if left undisturbed.

' Oregon Green '

Yep, I just came up with a new color for green and I think it's well justified.
Somehow the woods in Oregon with all its Greenery, Mossy wetness and combine that with magical waterfalls at every corner... It's just quite enchanting.

' Ice Blue '

It's amazing what pure creativity and hours of hardwork and labor can yield, especially when you throw in that little but all important ingredient called passion.

I was amazed at these guys at ICE CASTLES on how masterfully and painstakingly they put together these one of a kind man made Ice canyons and caves that simply make you stand there in Awe and just admire the Ice formations.

Taken during last year's winter (Jan'14) we had a blast shooting pictures inside the numerous Ice caves and those insanely huge clear blue sapphire Ice spears that line the caves all around. The sort of things that one would otherwise get to witness only in places such as Antarctica or Iceland. It's sad that they've had to Temporarily close for this season due to the abnormaly warm temperatures here in Utah. Hopefully the weather comes around and they get to re-open this year again.

' Iridescent Colorado River '

Taken on my recent trip to the Grand Canyon, I made an overnight stop at Page, AZ and of course I had to make a quick stop at The Bend to get in a few quick morning shots before heading further south.

The usually green Colorado river had some interesting hues of metallic colors going on under the shadow with the sun still low in the morning sky and it just got accentuated by this little boat that took off that morning. Made for some interesting viewing and got quite a few folks talking about it that morning.

There is always something different and new to see in a place... no matter how many times you've been there before

' Trail Blazing '

Blue hour magic at Monument Valley has always been something I look forward to whenever I visit this place. It's more like a bonus feature to all the visitors as if the already amazing Sunset colors were not enough.
We had planned on heading back north to Moab post sunset, but decided on staying back and trying out some Local Navajo Indian Cuisine. I decided to quickly make use of this time to get in a few more shots of this place post sunset just when the stars were beginning to pop out in the sky and then it happened. A Jeep with its high beam began descending down into the valley making its way through the winding road. I quickly set up my camera and dialed in the settings and got 5 long exposure shots one after another. This is that resulting picture from it post stacking of the 5 shots.
Sometimes you just need to keep an open eye and be on the look out for those moments to capitalize on. The Gold streak and the deep purple-blue makes for an interesting play of colors.
Hope you guys like this shot just as much as I enjoyed conceptualizing it on the spot and getting this end product.

Here is the first 2015 picture from a place that has never disappointed me in terms of getting some cool shots no matter what the weather is in this part of the world

So as 2014 comes to a wrap... Hope it's been a fun, adventurous and a revealing year for all with lots of miles under your belts.

To many more travels, exploring lots more new places and experiencing a lot more of firsts .... Keep those eyes wide open and the world is waiting to be explored.

' Serenity in Monument valley '

So we arrived just in time to catch some "Magical" light (No exageration) and clicked away quite a few shots of the left and right mittens as the light continued to play its hand on the landscape and once we had exhausted the sunset light, we headed down into the canyon driving through the towering Buttes.
This was a shot I got very late into the Sunset to mainly get the silhouettes of this unique rock formation which the Native-Indian people refer to as the 'The Nunn and her two disciples'against the late sunset colors of the sky.

Can't wait to share more shots I got during my recent visit to Monument Valley in some pretty amazing light.
