Photography by Emily Payne My studio specializes in newborn, maternity and family photography in San Francisco. I look forward to creating amazing images for your family!

Photos are more than just something to be looked at once then left to languish forever in the depths of your computer. Photos are keepsakes of the best moments of your life, and reminders of the special people you love. That’s why at Photography by Emily Payne, our full service studio in San Francisco, we strive to capture your most important moments with heart, skill, and exceptional attention to

detail. Our namesake, Emily, has over 12 years experience shooting all ages and groups, and specializes in maternity, newborn and wedding photography. Her goal is to ensure that you and your family are comfortable and having fun during the shoot, and that’s what shows in the photographs. Whether in our studio or in your home with your little newborn, or on location at your wedding, we always work with the utmost professionalism while ensuring you feel at ease. We strongly believe in supporting the local community by participating in community events and supporting local San Francisco businesses. We also believe in using as little waste as possible, so we work with photo labs that use minimal chemicals, and paper with the least amount of silver. We’d love to create for you a meaningful work of art to proudly display in your home and enjoy for years to come. We promise that you will feel comfortable, cared for and completely satisfied with the process and with your photographs. We want you to feel compelled to introduce our studio to your friends and loved ones.

How are you guys doing out there? Have you noticed that your own kids seem to be growing up during this ?
I took this photo of my girls sitting together in the sunny spot less than 20 days ago.
Somehow, they seem a year younger in this photo. So much growing is happening.
Sending you all love and peace and a nice sunny spot...

How are you guys doing today? I guess we have no idea what we are actually capable of until we are pushed... Here we are, being pushed. Pushed into different, uncomfortable positions. . .
I am an emotional person. If you tell me your birth story, I will tear up right there with you. Every time. I may also tear up at an Allstate commercial. The tears come often these days. Some from emotions and some from overwhelm. Some even from anger.
But, I have to remember these two little beings here. Watching my every move. Emulating my emotions. They are looking to me to guide them through this. They know that this is different and weird. But, they also know that they have me to lean on, cry with and quite literally, push against. . .
I fell so lucky that they have each other. They are protecting each other and it is so unbelievable. The bond is stronger every day.

Hello! It has been just a few weeks since I have posted to my business account here. .
(PS, I do have a personal account for daily updates from me and the kiddos should you be interested) .
A few things have changed since I last was on here or is it just me?! Just kidding. We are all in this together for the greater good. At my house, we are on day 17 of shelter in place and I am feeling it. I have had to take a huge step back from my business to step in as primary parent and teacher for my two sweet and demanding little girls. A few things have changed in the business over the past few weeks. Many of you already know but I did have to close my studio in dogpatch/potrero area of San Francisco after 14 years. .
I made the decision a week ago and have had a few moments to mourn the sadness of closing this physical portion of my business. .
It is not all sad though. I am super excited to continue to serve my community on location AND by renting super adorable studios around the bay (once we are allowed to continue business). This will be a good thing!
I have a few things in the pipeline that I am super eager to share with you. The fact that I am MOM/TEACHER all day sure does hinder the headway I was hoping to make on some business projects though! More soon. .
Let me start this "new me" by reintroducing you to my children/only clients/hardest subjects/loves of my life Jolene (6.5) and Rosie (5 in a few days). These girls are riding this wave with me and loving every other minute. I am filled with immense gratitude that they have each other and that I have both of them on this journey. .
You will see many more photos from this tiniest of moments with them. .
I will be sharing more business updates over the next week as well.
I hope you are all doing well.
Lots of love,
Emily
