Elope in the Dolomites with us!

Maddie and I planned our own elopement in the Dolomites and it was the best decision we’ve made together. It was exactly the type of wedding we want to shoot and help plan!

What did we want out of our day? Something simple, somewhere new, big mountains, hiking, and multiple days with family and friends under one roof.

The Italian alps delivered!

On our wedding day, we watched the sunrise together at Lago di Braies, relaxed midday at our hotel with a couple spritz and then took our group of 20 up to Cadini di Musurina for our ceremony. Everyone hiked about a mile to the top, got a bit lost in the fog, it even rained and hailed on us while we shared vows. While the weather wasn’t what we were hoping for, it only made that part of the day more memorable. Hailing on all our closest people while exchanging vows is something we’ll truly never forget.

We ended the night back in town and ate a lovely pizza dinner and drinks back at the hotel.

A day well spent!

As someone who has been going to Yosemite most of my life and now a Yosemite elopement photographer, it’s the best feeling to show couples around one of my favorite spots on earth.

Here are a couple of my top picks for places to visit while eloping in Yosemite.

⛰️ Taft point - This spot is iconic for a reason. It has some of the best views of the valley from up high and it’s my personal favorite location for a sunset in the park.

💧 Cathedral beach - This is a great location to say your vows as it’s usually a bit less crowded and calm. Come here in November to get a perfect reflection and fall colors!

💦 The Mist Trail - This is a must-do hike while visiting Yosemite. It’s one of the most popular trails in the park but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the views! Best to do this in the spring and summer when Vernal falls is flowing!

🌱 Cook Meadows - another iconic place in the park good for wandering around by the Merced river, frolicking through the valley, and taking in views of Half Dome and Yosemite falls.

And the cherry on top of eloping in Yosemite? Elopement permits cost only $150!

We’ve been to the Moab area multiple times over the years and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of these views.

If you like vast otherworldly landscapes, you should put the Moab area on your list of places to elope.
