Michael B Endicott Photography My urban nature photography is just the start for my final artwork. I also accept commissions (including portrait, commercial, event photography).

Ranging from realistic to surreal, you will find lots of color, patterns and stories in each final piece. Michael Endicott is a Photographer and Mixed Media Artist from San Francisco, California, USA. As an Urban Nature Impressionist, he explores the interaction between the “experimental environment” constructed by wo/men and the “constraining environment” dictated by nature. Michael pulls his pho

tography into the realm of painting, not by adding color via digital programming, but by "bending" the different wavelengths of light inherent in the original photograph. The effect can substantially alter the viewer's immediate understanding of the subject, while adding layers of dialog between us and nature. His work is eclectic, along diverse themes: Industrial Impressionism, Concrete Is My Canvas, Nature, Urban Nature, Street Photography, My Sketchy Life, The Revolution Will Be Televised and Choose Joyful. His photographs and art are for sale. And he welcomes commercial and private commissions.

One of my most favorite gallery installations ever….. now Gallery House Menlo Park until October 4th ….or someone takes them home!

Here, on the gallery walls, these pieces speak so well to each other, each reflecting a deeply meditative connection to our environment and community.

The totemic triptych, “Imaginarium” (each panel 72”x6”) is a collaboration with mixed media artist Karen Cox who also has a studio with me at Art Bias The composition, colors and textures of paint, stenciling and photographs on metal provide many points of entry and paths for contemplation. A dramatic focal point for any setting.

The other two pieces, Hale pu’uhonua (Nene) (20x16 Dye Infused Aluminum) are photographic composites shot on the Big Island of Hawaii just after the visit of Hurricane Lālā (Limb of a tree; angle of wind). The tree and branch components are “arborealglyphics” on the coastal berm of the Kaloko Honokōhau National Historical Park where walls of ancient fish ponds can be viewed. The polished wood and acute angle convey the cataclysmic forces of nature (volcanic, oceanic, atmospheric) that make up this paradise.
The Hale (“house) component was a roof tile blown to the ground at my feet. It reflects the multifaceted relationship inhabitants have with nature and ourselves across time. Inside the walls is the sanctuary community and shelter. The Nene is Hawaii’s National Bird. Though the natural and human altered world has put its survival at risk, it is a talisman of sustainability that we can all palpably understand. The Hawaiian Islands and its people are in a continual cycle of undoing and reforming.

“Explorer within (Folie à deux)” found the perfect home. It was discovered by Stephen as he walked into Gallery House for the first time as he passed by. The harmonics of this collaboration between mixed media artist, Inna Zatulovsky, and photographer, Michael Endicott and its new owner is almost as surreal as the piece.

My space on the gallery’s wall continues with more surreal realism. “Evanescence” and “Puck.”

Yes, there are laundry lines in this “hellhole.” Is free solar power a good kind of socialism? Overlooking Coit Tower and the Bay Bridge, this neighborhood is a woods in disguise. Great place to also meet hawks and coyotes.
