I’ve been exploring the new ChatGPT image generator, and I must admit—I’m deeply impressed. The speed and quality of what it can create are nothing short of astonishing. And if this is only the beginning, it’s hard to imagine just how far we’ll go.

At the same time, I carry a sense of concern. The ease with which one can replicate the styles of well-known artists raises questions about originality and the dilution of creativity. I believe we’re standing at a threshold where the very definition of creativity is being reexamined.

Drawing and painting have long been revered as forms of art—but perhaps they are simply tools to express a vision. And what if that vision can be expressed through words instead of brushstrokes? Writers have always been artists of their own kind, crafting entire worlds with language. So why not blend the two? Why not use both words and images to bring something entirely new into being?

If we approach AI as a creative partner rather than a replacement, it becomes a tool that amplifies, not diminishes. It lowers the barrier to entry, yes—but it doesn’t eliminate the need for vision, intention, and imagination. In fact, it challenges us to bring more of those qualities forward.

There’s something undeniably thrilling about that. I’m both excited and uneasy, but I choose to lean into the possibilities. Creativity has always been about freedom—about pushing boundaries, breaking molds, and discovering new ways to express what lives inside us.

And perhaps most intriguingly, AI is teaching us something unexpected: to ask better questions. It mirrors the universe in that it can offer you almost anything—but only if you know how to ask for it. To truly unlock its potential, we need to learn to articulate our needs with clarity and depth. And maybe that’s the hidden gift in all of this: a deeper, more honest relationship with our own desires and intentions.
