Back to 2016…

I had been preparing this post since January, when it was trending… but in the end, I made it my own.

I rethought so many things and realized just how much life has changed. How full and intense these years have been. Every step, every season - all leading us to where we are today.
So much growth. So many challenges. So much life.
But one thing has always remained the same - I always choose my family 🤍

And one more reminder - take the photos. Take as many as you can. Capture the ordinary days, the messy days, the quiet ones.
One day you’ll look back and realize just how rich and beautiful your life truly is 💛

2025 month by month

January: A powerful ocean photoshoot to start the year: Sofia’s tribute to her rhythmic gymnastics era.
Always learning - attended a live workshop on photographing families with newborns.

February: We became season ticket holders for SJ Quakes ⚽️ and took our very first family vacation to the Dominican Republic.

March: California in full bloom. Enjoying all the green and light, and trying a new creative format for me - a sibling-only family photoshoot (not my own kids).

April: A big milestone: a completely new and exciting experience - I started shooting MLS games as a sideline photographer (back in February I didn’t even know all the players’ names 🫣🤭), and now I can recognize them from a distance just by their style of play. Our first full family trip to Yosemite National Park - finally making it there together!

May: New gear excitement! I got an amazing long-focus, fast lens - perfect for capturing beautiful shots of fast-paced soccer games.

June: Our first vacation as a couple, without kids🤍 A love-story photoshoot in our romantic city - Tallinn. Alex wrapped up the soccer season with a tournament win 🏆 - the perfect way to kick off summer break!

July: A reminder that life isn’t always smooth 😅 I broke my toe and had to slow down.

August: Recharging with family, beautiful Pismo Beach sunsets, and gathering energy before the new school year. Sofia walked her first fashion show for JCPenney.

September: We officially have a teenager at home 😂 I continued shooting soccer - first time at Levi’s Stadium. And a trip to Miami Beach to meet my Instagram friend from Moscow.

October: Our annual pumpkin patch photoshoot 🎃 And the end of the MLS season - final game. Already missing every moment ⚽️💛

November: All about The Nutcracker 🩰 Rehearsals, rehearsals, and then - 4 shows in 2 days!

December: Another tournament win for Alex 🏆 and a big camera upgrade: Nikon Z5 II - faster autofocus and faster burst rates. Tested it in action and it’s 🚀 Ready for the new MLS season!

So grateful for this year and excited for what’s ahead 🤍

Fall foliage is the best backdrop for a family photoshoot 🍂 And we’re extra lucky here in California: even in November, a simple sweater is all you need to stay comfortable throughout the entire session. Autumn truly creates the most beautiful, effortless setting for capturing family moments 🧡

My heart always melts when, just a few weeks after a maternity session, I hear - “Our baby is here! Can we book another session with you?” 📸☺️

And then we meet again… and again - first birthday, second birthday…

Watching families grow together is truly the most magical part of being a photographer 🤍
