I had an opportunity to visit the US Coast Guard Air Station at San Francisco International Airport today. I was with a group of boaters who were learning about safety and what to expect in a water rescue. Then we had a brief tour of their helicopter hangar.

Shoes do make an outfit...These are my brand-new steel-toed work boots. Women's boots are hard to find and small men's boots are impossible to find. I got these at Workingman's Emporium http://www.workingmans.com/. I'd recommend this place - they have a great selection of safety wear, foot wear, accessories, etc - plus great service.

Today I met a couple who were out for a leisurely 25-mile ride on their tricycles. Called recumbent tricycles, these high-tech machines are manufactured in Florida by a company called Catrike. This is an old movie projector that sits in the lobby of the New Parkway Theater in Oakland, CA. The theater itself is very interesting; the seating is more like an old playhouse with loveseats and tables for 4. They also have table service for food (which looked awesome but I had to have popcorn) and use real butter on the popcorn.
