Last night after I put the little ones down I had plans to be productive. Instead, I ended up going down memory lane as I scrolled through my photo stream. I did organize a few photos into albums, so that counts as productive, right? 😅
Anyway, this is one photo I rediscovered so today I’m remembering a happy sunny day at the Oakland temple. Love photographing there. And Astrid and Chris were a dream in front of the camera.

(For anyone wondering if I secretly had a second child you didn’t know about, no. 😆 I have my five-year-old nephew with me for a couple of weeks in addition to my one-year-old)

“Soarin’ California” he said as he peeled the orange. Yes!! The smell of death oranges took me straight back to happy memories at California Adventure.
We were hiking and trying to figure out if a certain tree was a type of oak or not. We ripped a leaf to smell it and I can’t tell you if it’s an oak, but I can tell you it took me straight back to science camp in the Santa Cruz mountains.
Smells have memories attached to them and they can be so powerful. That’s the idea we ran with for this commercial shoot for .rose. Let me know what you think of this set!
Ps do I have a million pictures I love from this shoot? Yes. Will I continue to post them? Yes. 🙃

Happy Friday! ... emphasis on the happy. 😊 took my camera with us on our morning walk, convinced (kinda) my one-year-old to lay in some flowers, and I have no regrets... ☺️ this image makes me H.A.P.P.Y! 💛💛💛 Hope you can find/make some happy today.

When I reflect on the beauty around me, I feel God’s love. When I am in nature, I feel closer to Him. I believe that he created this Earth for us, for our growth and happiness. And I’m so grateful. Happy Earth day.

Have you ever had a smell take you back to a place, person, or moment? This shoot was based in how fragrances have memories attached to them. We explored what snapshots might come to mind with this St. Rose fragrance.

Anyone know a high school senior watching their big year fade away?
There are definitely worse things people are going through at this time, and I keep that perspective always. But I do feel bad for my cousin, whose senior portraits I was supposed to take this month! 😭 Maybe I’ll find a way to take some of her still, just from a distance. ☺️
In the meantime, here is one of my of faves from Lillie’s session, which I need to share way more of.

Sheltering in place has meant many things. One of the positive things it has meant for me is a willingness (and the time) to try new things.
Thank you for the push to go outside my comfort zone; to turn my small dining area into a make shift studio of sorts and put myself in front of the camera. This sparked so much joy and fulfillment for me today. Hosting this self-portrait giveaway was such a fun idea. How I would looooove to continue to learn with more of your education offerings...
This is so different for me, and I’d love to hear what you all think...!?! 😬
Oh ya, and I threw in a little double exposure experiment at the end. Is it cool? Weird? Just whatever...? Let me know!

Hmmm... Do you smell that?.... yep, it’s another dose of ._rose.
The concept behind this shoot was that smell transports us. Takes us back to moments, to people. Smells have memories attached to them. And we explored what snapshots could be associated with this fragrance for a couple enjoying a weekend getaway.

My degree is in Communications, emphasis in Advertising. I’ve worked at two branding agencies since.
I’ve been drawn to combining this interest and background with my love of photography by exploring brand/product photography and got to try my hand at it a couple months ago at Photo Native for the sustainable perfume company St. Rose.
