If you are in Pismo Beach for the 40th Annual Pismo Beach Classic Car Show this weekend, make sure to look out to the sea for humpback whales! They are really active right now! Lots of breaching, tail slapping, other cool action, and spouts all over!

May has been a great month for humpback whales breaching in pismo beach! I either see them myself or other people tell me they saw breaches almost every day this month! Have you seen any?!?!

Watching them burst out of the water with their massive bodies blows my mind every time! I'm always grateful for every opportunity to spend time with these amazing creatures!!! Looking forward to the next time every time!

Watch as these common dolphins change direction and speed while they chase after bait fish to eat! Their agility and ability to work together and maneuver as a group to help each other feed always amazes me! Sometimes these dolphin stampedes will come out of nowhere when you're out on the sea! They temporarily change weather conditions around them! There is so much motion and temperature variation at the surface that wind will blow along with them! I have been miles and miles from land and have come upon thousands of speeding dolphins creating blustery air amidst otherwise really calm seas. When they chase after food like this, they change direction really quickly. The fish the dolphins are trying to eat will abruptly maneuver in attempts to get away! I feel very lucky to not be an anchovy!

The Lanikau pillbox hike is my favorite sunrise hike on Oahu! Beautiful views of the mokes and surrounding scenery! Hiking up in the dark and getting there 30 to 45 minutes before sunrise is the best! You really see all the cool light change then!

When I see sharks together swimming parallel to each other calmly, I always want to think they are friends. They don't get too close, but they still want to be near each other. They say a quick hello and move onward. Maybe one day we will learn what they are communicating to each other.

This was a fun day filming with somewhere in California!
