When your future brother in law, a filmmaker and photographer and seeester-in-law asks you to photograph their third and official marriage license/wedding ceremony at San Francisco City Hall, a place they’ve only seen in photos, there was zero hesitation that it was a soul aligned YES. 👰🏻🤵🏻

Sapphira & Allen had their 1/3 event Chinese tea ceremony and banquet in May, 2/3 elopement in Iceland, and 3/3 at SF City Hall- and FINALLY they’re official! I am so proud and excited for what the future holds for the two of them.

On the day of their 3rd and final nuptials, Nov 14th, 2024, everything worked out for them. They were able to book one of my fav Bay Area MUAH’s , we had the easiest drive with no traffic (even though we left 45 mins later than our expected time), made it there before opening to watch the sun rise, had the beautiful City Hall all to ourselves for about 30 mins to take in it’s immense beauty, captured their portraits with ease AND more, had a beautiful ceremony with their cherished loved ones ❤️ and it also rained - which is said to be good luck! It was a beautiful day to conclude their entire year of celebrations!

It was also wonderful to photograph their city hall wedding since I was already familiar with it and the last wedding for me was in 2021, and prior to then was 2019. (Side note: for my dearest friends & clients who I have not shared this with - we moved! I also have been on an indefinite sabbatical/maternity leave/full-time-mommy-status - and now 27 weeks pregnant with baby #2! I’m still around but not taking photos actively.) I’d love to thank our village esp my hubby and Dad for making this all possible for everyone involved, even Sapphira & Allen for catering towards our current situation! This was truly a labor of love and something absolutely special that bb girl and I created so you can have these for the rest of your lives ✨

Anyway, YAY! We’re all family now! Weeee! You two are both so special in so many ways and I’m excited for what your future will bring! Congratulations and soooo much love to you both! Welcome to the fam, .films ✨💍👰🏻🤵🏻

Kwohtations!

is a NYC based stationery small business that reflects and celebrates a diversity of identities and life experiences. Some of Kwohtation’s products include greeting cards, Zines, Tea Towels, Bandanas, Tote Bags, postcards, stickers, and all sorts of goods that include multitudes of emotions, celebrations, grief, AND inclusive of BIPOC, LGBTQ, and everyone in between. When Janine first reached out and inquired, I perused around her site, absolutely fell in love with the empathy and thought she puts into her products and was head over heels with her story to where she created her business to what it is today.

After a Zoom call of getting to know each other, we both said YES to working with each other!! Over the course of a few months, we met, planned, she sent two separate shipments of her products, did some test shots then photographed them all in the home studio, had a few additional zoom meetings in between, edited, and delivered her imagery. When it was complete, Janine then updated her site with her new imagery and I was to the moon, I felt elated!

This project was therapeutic on multitudes of levels. Especially with COVID, much of my photography work had been at a standstill for the past year and a half. I’ve also been seeking my true purpose in life and doing a lot of soul searching, so this past year I’ve been lucky to have the time to dive deep - which included joining a coaching program to awaken my soul. Through my coaching program, I’ve been taught to “Let it be easy, and let it be fun” and that is exactly what this project was. I was in a complete flow state on the days that I was brainstorming and overflowing with ideas, content creating, and literally shooting non stop for hours until past dinner! I was on a roll but by the time dinner came and I’d clean up, I’d crash from the warm LA heat and creative overflow. This project was so much more to just creating content - it brought me joy and wholesome energy.

crusin’ into monday like....

hello everyone!! ive been very quiet here this year, but it’s because I’ve been very busy!
