As a freelance photographer, I sometimes have to choose between overlapping jobs. In this case, it was a corporate shoot and a wedding. After talking with both clients, the decision became clear. Dollar amount aside, this couple’s excitement about us working together, and the trust they placed in me, made it an easy choice. This is a special couple, and an unforgettable event. A really personal, heartfelt celebration, that touched all that attended.

Shyler & Kayla -
There are certain moments — and certain people — that will always hold a special place in my photography story. Shyler reached out to me from Texas after being referred by (thank you!), letting me know he was planning a surprise proposal for Kayla.
From the very beginning, I knew it was going to be memorable. You could hear the excitement in his voice.
Everything came together perfectly, and it’s such an honor to capture the beginning of a couple’s next chapter together.
Wishing these two an incredible life together. If the photo session is any indication, they will have a life full of fun and love.

I am sharing some Grad photos I have taken recently. Though a lot of my work is with seasoned business professionals, it’s inspiring to work with young adults that are both celebrating their scholastic accomplishments and starting their professional chapter in life.

Morning dew on the deck - Who knew?! I had no idea while I was taking photos with my eyes that my feet created this cool image/art. I’m often surprised that the original situation which catches my eye doesn’t end up being what creates the most interesting image. While my feet unintentionally created this fun pattern, the following images are what my eyes chose to capture.

As we move deeper into an AI-driven art world full of mind-bending alterations and manipulation, simple, personal, and intimate images will only become more meaningful.

Simplicity. I often see family photos taken in overwhelming, unlikely settings just for dramatic effect. I prefer to keep things minimal so the focus stays on the subjects—the family itself. Their connection, interaction, and emotion are what create a memorable, heartfelt image that truly tells their story.

Over the 30+ years of my photography career, I’ve been fortunate to travel to more than 55 countries across 6 continents. Each journey has given me the opportunity to learn about life around the planet, people, cultures, and about myself. The freedom to have these experiences is one of the greatest gifts I have been given. My twin brother, Tom, sifted through years and years — and thousands and thousands of images — to create this video. Although Tom couldn't always be there physically during these adventures, he is always with me. Thanks Tom!

Family Photos - So much has changed since the awkward, overly posed family photos of years past. They no longer have to be boring sessions where everyone stands in uncomfortable, unrealistic positions in front of a meaningless setting, wearing clothes they’d never normally wear — especially not all at the same time.

Now, the images reflect individual personalities, relationships, and family dynamics. I have worked with many families — some since “day one” (their wedding day) — and for many, it’s become a yearly tradition.

Recently, I’ve been compiling years of photos (and video clips) into short films that tell the family’s story “over the years.” These are especially meaningful, and I’ll be posting one soon.

The actual photo session - within minutes of a session, everyone realizes they can relax, have fun, and just be themselves. I capture moments and create images that are priceless. Nowadays there are so many ways to share these images that everyone in the family gets a lot of joy and mileage out of them. It's never too late to start a new tradition.
