Where the Pacific meets the stars. 🌌✨

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you don’t plan.

Few days ago, I noticed the forecast was lining up perfectly—a clear sky, a new moon, and an ideal Milky Way alignment over Big Sur. Within minutes, I called one of my photography buddies, packed my gear, and we hit the road.

After a 3.5-hour drive, we reached the coast just as darkness settled in. From McWay Falls to Bixby Bridge, we spent the entire night chasing the galaxy, hiking in the dark, setting up compositions, waiting for the perfect alignment, and photographing until nearly 3:00 AM.

By the end of the night, we were exhausted. But the moment I reviewed these images on my camera, every mile driven, every step taken, and every hour without sleep felt completely worth it.

Photography has a way of rewarding patience, preparation, and a little spontaneity.

Which image is your favorite?
🌊 1. McWay Falls
🌉 2. Bixby Bridge

Thank you for following along on this journey.

Three perspectives. One unforgettable mountain. 🏔️✨

Mount Shasta greeted me with dreamy reflections, endless alpine views, and peaceful forests beneath its snow-capped summit. Every turn offered a new composition, reminding me that nature never repeats itself.

These are the moments that make every mile of the journey worthwhile.

The Joshua Tree night sky tour continues! 🌌👇

Following up on the last starry adventure, we are moving deeper into the park’s dark skies. This time, the galactic core aligns perfectly with Penguin Rock, and we let the shutter drag to capture a mesmerizing vortex of star trails spinning above the silhouettes of those iconic desert trees.
If you loved the Milky Way alignments in the last set, swipe left to see how the desert transforms when you capture the rotation of the earth!
Which formation has been your favorite to see under the stars so far? Let me know in the comments! 🌵✨

Gear: Sony a1, 14mm f1.8, 20mm f1.8 & MSM star tracker.

Chasing the stars is never easy, but it’s always worth it. ✨ We drove 10 hours to reach the incredible dark skies of Joshua Tree National Park, and the Milky Way did not disappoint. Spent the first night shooting until 3 AM around iconic spots like Arch Rock, Heart Rock and Joshua tree with my photography friends. I was completely exhausted by the end of it, but standing under that glowing galactic core makes every single sleepless hour fade away.
To bring out the absolute best detail and keep the noise down, these images are tracked, stacked, and blended. Lots of work in the field and behind the screen, but I love how they turned out! 🌌📸

Not your average night in the desert. 🌌🏜️

I spent the last week pulling detail out of two recently-captured raw files, bringing to life the incredible cosmic drama above the California desert. These locations couldn’t have different vibes.
Slide 1: The alien towers of Trona Pinnacles, where 100-foot spires meet the ancient light of the cosmos.
Slide 2: The sailing stones of Racetrack Playa, caught under the brightest part of the Milky Way core.
These are my final edits, but I’m torn. For me, it’s all about the edit and the process.
I want to know which one lands for you: The Trona Spire (1) or the Racetrack Stone (2)?

Two ways to look at Trona Pinnacles. Which perspective draws you in more? 👇

Is it the immersive wide-angle view, showing the full scale of this alien landscape? Or is it the more focused crop that centers all the swirling star trails directly over the single tufa, making you feel completely lost in the desert night?
I took my Sony a1 and a 20mm lens out for a mid-April trip, patiently watching the stars swirl one exposure at a time. The desert silence, the crisp night air, and watching those star trails perfectly frame the center spire made the lack of sleep entirely worth it. 🌌

A dream finally realized at the edge of the world. ✨
After renting an off-road SUV and driving for hours into the absolute middle of nowhere, my photography buddy and I finally reached the legendary Racetrack Playa. Cut off from the world with zero cell service, the sheer isolation of the pitch-black desert was terrifying at first—until the sky opened up.
While the cameras soaked in the starlight, I laid back and watched meteors flash by in complete darkness. It was like sitting in a front-row seat at a cosmic planetarium.
The Science of the Sailing Stones:
For decades, how these rocks moved was a mystery. It turns out, it takes a rare combination of water, ice, and wind. A shallow pool of rainwater freezes into thin ice sheets overnight. As the ice breaks up in the morning sun, gentle winds push the ice panels into the rocks, causing them to slide across the slick mud and leave these long trails behind.
Swipe to see the playa during the quiet blue hour, followed by the Milky Way glowing over the tracks. Hope you all like it! 🌌📸

Sometimes the best shots come from the most spontaneous decisions. Made a sudden trip out to my absolute favorite place on Earth just to catch the Milky Way rising over Tunnel View. Standing in the quiet of the valley floor while the galactic core lines up perfectly over El Capitan and Bridalveil Fall never gets old. There is truly nothing like the magic of Yosemite under a blanket of stars. ✨🌌

Blink… and you’ve already missed magic. 💨🌸
Patience paid off with these lightning-fast beauties.
A tiny symphony of speed and color—captured in a moment most eyes would miss.
It’s incredible how something so small can move so impossibly fast.
Frozen in time through high shutter speed, revealing what usually goes unseen.
