She was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in March of this year, she was running fever and was not getting better now matter what we did , we made an appointment with her pediatrician thinking she may have been anemic , when they tested her blood the pediatrician sent us straight to st Francis PICU , we had no answers at that time , it was a whirlwind of tests and trying to keep her hydrated . The oncologist came into the room, and I just knew , a mother always knows, and even though I knew exactly why an oncologist would come into the room I was praying I was wrong , but I was not. We were told we would not get a for sure diagnosis until she did a bone marrow biopsy . After we agreed they took her almost immediately to do the biopsy , almost 3 hours later our worst fear became a reality , she has cancer .
After a day of processing , we were taken to st judes Memphis , where we started chemo treatments almost immediately. We spent three long months in Memphis, and was finally released to come back home and finish treatments at st Francis , her treatment plan is a two year plan šš§” and we go weekly for treatments..
We felt helpless when we were told the diagnosis, knowing your child has cancer and it is something that I canāt just give her antibiotics for and it go away or a Bandaid 𩹠and it make it better , I canāt kiss this boo boo and make it feel better , I canāt explain how that feels , how heart broken and helpless you feel in that moment⦠you have to literally put your childās life in the hands of a stranger and pray they can fix her . Moms story that just brought tears to my eyes. Message or call me to get your sessions booked.
