Going through images captured earlier this year... can't believe I missed these on my card! It was January 28, enjoying a light snowfall, and one of these beautiful bucks had just dropped an antler! How exciting it is to watch the seasons change thru the life of the whitetail!

In my next life, I will have acreage with a chicken coop and alpacas!!
Went out on a relaxing, early morning tour of our local Selle Valley yesterday! Loved seeing this herd out in the fields and picture ready! I have not had a chance to photograph them in years, and seeing them always brings me so much joy!
Stunning creatures, curious, and so stinkin' cute! And from the looks of a few of the bellies, I think there are some babies due this spring. Hope they make you smile, too!

Sandpoint Winter Carnival wrapped up in town today with the annual K-9 Keg Pull, hosted by Eichardt's Pub & Grill! This is a well-attended, yet not too crowded (yay!), favorite event for locals and visitors! The air was cold, but the sun was shining, and everyone was in high spirits!!
All of the pups were adorable - some went racing by us, moving far too fast to photograph, while many others needed lots of coaxing by their owners. There were a few little guys pulling beer cans as their keg... missed catching them in action, but sooo stinkin' cute!! I'm already looking forward to next winter!

Earlier this week, before the gorgeous snowfall, I headed out at sunrise for a photo jaunt. These days are some of my most favorite! I chose to drive east towards Clark Fork, venturing down country roads in search of opportunities, when this herd of beautiful elk appeared! What a treat!! They seem more elusive around here than moose! Although far off in this field, I hung out watching them for about an hour, capturing a few images with my trusty zoom.

It seems like spring has sprung around here!
It is true - I absolutely love winter days! Snow for days, exploring on snowshoes, wearing my favorite boots and beanies, snow-laden pine branches.... I have missed winter this year so much!!!
But today was fantastically gorgeous!!! Warm temps, blue skies and everyone out and about on the trails! Our lake and skies were breathtakingly beautiful!

My dad had a great appreciation for a Dry Martini >> gin, of course!
And although I would prefer snow, our dry winter here in the Idaho panhandle offers its own style of beauty!
Love the joint appreciation for the quality of 'dryness' in different ways!

A few more images from my trip to the Midwest! It was getting stormy and this magnificent lake had waves that could rival the Pacific on some days!
Just a short walk from my sister's new home, and the whole beach is your oyster - read, dream, collect rocks, and so much more. Simply Beautiful!
