Glacier’s Mount Reynolds is mostly covered in quick moving clouds on Sunday afternoon atop Logan Pass. I climbed Reynolds a few years back for sunrise. Definitely an epic but hard earned adventure!

The Silver fire burns hot as the Blood Moon rises over the Idaho Selkirk Mountains. I hiked to the top of a remote North Idaho peak to capture this scene Thursday of last week. Without my knowledge I had inadvertently captured the Milky Way as well.

This is a 8 shot panorama and it has taken me hours of tedious work to stitch it together and get it right enough to share it. I battled 35 MPH gusts on the edge of a cliff, taking multiple exposures of each image every time the tripod shook. Enjoy! Sadly Facebook has compressed the heck out of this image so quality isn’t anything like on my computer. Feel free to share and follow for more adventures!

The Silver Fire and lunar eclipse show off for me deep in the backcountry of the Selkirk Mountains. Full pano of Eclipse and wildfire together coming! I hiked to the top of a mountain specifically to capture the fire and lunar eclipse in one location in one image!
Feel free to share!

I come to the garden alone
Dew still on the roses
Pondering life’s choices
Waiting for the night to be gone
Waiting at dawn

He comes to the garden
Him alone
Olives hanging from my trees
A mountain of worries
I lay there with him at the Mount of olives
Pondering. Waiting. Not alone

Breeze blows. I notice the rose, let go of troubles at hand. He takes mine. Fresh oxygen fills me, I breathe in and out. The intoxicating aroma filling my lungs with fresh ideas. I stare at the intricate details of what sits around me. A new adventure awakes in my heart.

Be still my soul. Forget not His benefits. For in the morning he comes and takes away the sorrow of the night. I smell the flowers, feel the peace in the still. I am at once intricately designed to be. Be a part of the grand design. He whispers to me on the wind.
“Abide in me. And I in you. Life’s great adventure can’t be won in a race. Be still and know. You will not run out of time, for I created it.”

And then he talks with me and he lays down next to me. And he tells me I am his own. And he shares his secrets with me. And the joy I feel with him in that sharing, non other has ever known.

Land of the lost

The last morning on my recent trip I got up early and headed back into Yellowstone. Not seeing the wildlife I was hoping for I took a walk along a trail I knew very little about. Based on a feeling and a thirst for trees in foggy conditions, I stumbled upon this scene. Thousands of intricately spun webs loomed before me above thermal pools as the sun and fog locked in a battle for supremacy over the day. What a beautiful way to end my time in the park. God speaks in mysterious ways at times, and I’m along for the ride of my life with Him.

Squatting in ankle deep sludge for about an hour, my muscles screamed as I held my camera and large lens still, just over the water to photograph these swans in Yellowstone, Wednesday afternoon. When I finally stood up, I almost fell over, blood flow restricted from my crouched position. But man those swans were putting on a show for me and I couldn’t stop until my camera battery died.
