Straight On - Tribute to the Music of HEART
Narrative: A 6 piece band featuring dual vocalist and various musicians, “Straight On” faithfully recreates the vocals, & essence that made "HEART" the iconic band it is today. With passion, and intensity, {"Straight On" | A tribute to the Heart of Music } takes the audience through decades of chart-topping hits like “Barracuda”, & probably my personal favorite “What about Love”.
I Initially was unfamiliar with the iconic band “HEART”. But after the 1st couple of tunes it’s like the synapses in my brain connected and now all those iconic songs that I remembered as a kid finally had a name, and now in front of me, a face.
A founder of the band, & lead vocalist, M. Bennett had a passion for her craft. Leaving nothing on the stage she poured the raw emotion out of her soul like the band she passionately pays tribute to. With her 80’s attire and heart shaped sunglasses, she represented Ann Wilson very well. K. Bennett was the most charismatic of the group with his dynamic hair, and extremely patriotic sunglasses. His loosely fitting shirt and free loving demeanor was a perfect fit for the groups aesthetic.
The very talented K. Bright had the challenging job of supporting the lead vocalist & playing guitarist. Like Nancy herself, she handled it like a pro. Backing up the frontmen and women were D. Sodee, the very capable drummer, keyboarding dynamo R. Abrahamsen. And in my opinion the coolest person in the band, B. Briggs who kept a cool grin on his face nearly the entire concert while playing bass. His poses were like 1 to 1 of Fossen himself.
All of them played very well inspite of the occasional technical/audio challenges. This amazing group rocked the hearts of these Sandusky natives much like the Iconic “HEART” band has rocked the hearts of their listeners for over 30 years. And if this concert was any indication, I think they will be around for a at least a few more years to come.
