New rule!! Very cool!! Wish they would all do it!!! WALKING IS GOOOOOOOD FOR YOU!!! Riding is….not!!! Especially when it’s from an arena to a trailer…and you’re young…we all going to wind up like “Wally” people
Attention NWYRA Contestants & Families
Effective immediately there is a NEW RULE regarding Alternative Motorized Vehicles. This decision was not taken lightly, but after numerous rodeos of having issues, including leaving property damage from tire skid marks at facilities donated to us that has created a financial burden on the association, the board has voted to ban them. We understand this might be upsetting to those who were using them in a respectful manner, but unfortunately our warning at the mandatory membership meeting in St Paul regarding these wasn't enough. Please see below for more precise wording.
ALTERNATIVE MOTORIZED DEVICES:
1. To ensure the safety of participants, spectators, livestock, staff, and volunteers, the use of scooters, electric scooters (e-scooters), electric bicycles (e-bikes), hoverboards, motorized skateboards, mini-bikes, ATVs, golf carts, and any other motorized personal transportation devices is prohibited on rodeo grounds.
2. This prohibition applies to the entire rodeo facility for the length of the active Rodeo weekend, contestants and their family members.
Exceptions
1. The following exceptions may be permitted:
2. Authorized emergency and medical response vehicles.
3. Rodeo-owned or management-approved utility vehicles.
4. Mobility devices used by individuals with disabilities.
5. Vehicles specifically authorized in writing by rodeo management for operational purposes.
All authorized vehicles must be operated safely and in accordance with rodeo rules.
Disciplinary Actions for Violations
Violations of this policy may result in one or more of the following disciplinary actions:
1. First Offense
o Contestant offense - Disqualification of that days rodeo events and no monetary refund.
o Family member and/or spectator offense - Removal for the remainder of the days.
o Immediate removal of the prohibited device from rodeo grounds.
2. Second Offense
o Contestant offense - Disqualification for the remainder of the weekend and no monetary refund.
3. Third Offense
o Contestant offense - Disqualification for remainder of season and no monetary refund.

Again, this rule is effective immediately, which means starting at Molalla.
