If you need a low key venue in southern California, the Santa Barbara courthouse is the perfect spot!

Juliet and Mark brought along their closest ones, including their adorable daughter, W. Every part of their day felt so intentional, from the location (their favorite place to visit) to the bread we picked up from their favorite bakery. • Elope in spring or fall when temps aren’t as hot
• Book a cute hotel or Airbnb to spend the morning getting ready together
• Book a guided tour or activity while you’re there- Joshua Tree is famous for its rock climbing!

I know I always say this about every shoot, but this is one of my favorite sessions I’ve done- Pam and Rayden were so fun and couldn’t stop laughing and joking with each other

We had woken up to pouring rain and weren’t sure if we would be able to shoot at sunrise, but the weather cleared a bit and we had the most dramatic clouds. We even ended their session with a splash in the ocean as the rain picked up again!

Getting excited because Milky Way season is upon us✨

Did you know that the Milky Way has a “season?” From February to October the galaxy’s core, that iconic band of stars that you see in this photo, is in the best position- but the best months are in late summer! During the winter when the planet rotates the galaxy is less visible, so summer is the best time for stargazing. Pick a moonless night in an area with low light pollution, grab a blanket, and lay down under the stars. The longer you lay there, your eyes will adjust to the darkness- it’s something that everyone should experience at least once in their lives!
