I had the opportunity to take this lovelie’s photo who was visiting from Utah, which is where I am from… She was here right before Christmas and a referral, and looking at colleges and wanted to do her senior portraits in a warm climate at the beach. This is pretty much our weather on and off all year long. Today is one of those days and it is January. Feeling pretty lucky to call this place home. Now of 25 years. This is the time for senior portraits especially. High school or college.

This project (Project Woman) has been so important to me, and opened my eyes to the fact that more women are so excited and open to taking these kind of photos vs "posing sexy". And the thing that warms my heart for women, is that more women are doing these photos for THEMSELVES.... I love this!

When my super talented friends who have been movers and shakers in their lives wants me to do their next photo shoot, I get so excited!
But the fact that Alyssa worked for French Vogue and Vanity fair both makes me obviously intimidated.
But I have to say, it was so much fun to work with my friend.
We laughed, listened to music, danced…
Photographing photographers is a learning experience all on its own, and I want to embrace it more!

These photos were taken with a simple black velvet throw that I carry around to shoots sometimes.
Sometimes simplicity is beautiful.
This is my beautiful friend and her baby.
She had a major foot surgery and I was there taking over dinner and just decided to take some photos of her baby that is turning one soon, while life just happens all around us.
