This shoot is one I will never forget.
This location has been a client favorite this year, but I now warn everyone in advance—my alarms will go off every five minutes reminding us to leave on time.
That evening, the sunset was breathtaking, and my usual “just one more shot” quickly turned into twenty more. We walked back to the car, still within the sunset window. As we got closer, we could see the ranger—and he could see us. We picked up the pace.
When we reached our cars, the ranger was gone, but we found notes on our windshields. We were 10 minutes past sunset, and the note instructed us to call for someone to open the gate.
We called, and they said it would be an hour.
So, there we were, waiting in the dark with only mints to eat, and bats flying overhead. Over an hour later, the ranger finally returned to let us out of the locked gate.
I was frustrated—but lesson learned.
1. We won’t be late leaving again.
2. We now and i have some unforgettable memories of the night we got locked in a county park.
