LargeSense LLC

LargeSense LLC Manufacturer of Large Format Digital Cameras LargeSense LLC was formed in February 2014 to make large format digital cameras, a market not yet served.

With films being discontinued now is the time to introduce a digital product. While film will still be the most magical, digital will allow a quick work flow, live view focusing and video.

Trying out the 4x5 color sensor we made some more. It has a few issues though it can do well. I have been thinking about a redesign of the CFA for better color.

I was listening to a country song, Red Solo Cup. I was thinking it would be nice to take a photo of one. We have red cups, but they are Great Value Party Cups from Walmart. So, that is what I took a photo of. Using a single Godox SL-60 LED Video Light (Daylight-Balanced). 3 separate shots using red, green and blue color filters combined into one in camera.

I wanted to try a Brenizer method pano, but I ended up doing a regular pano with a tripod. It is about 12 shots, stitched with Autopano. The effect is a bit wide. Later I'll use a longer lens and do a large format Brenizer effect.

Our color consultant has made his own chart. He has started the company Panaluxe to produce it. Each color has been accurately measured. When you do a calibration the software will use the accurate values from your chart rather than an estimation. Software can be built into cameras which will allow fast, easy and very accurate colors.

We’re trying it out with the LS45-C color back.

Speed Graphic to Pentax67 lens adapter. We're working on a 6x7 digital back, the smallest size back we would make. The sensor width is 73mm. To fully use that width, especially for video, we'll make a 4x5 Graflok version. Pentax67 lenses are nice but there is no easy way to mount to their cameras as they have a built in film back. So I'm making some adapters to adapt Pentax67 lenses to a Speed Graphic. We'll mount to as many 6x7 cameras as possible such as Mamiya RZ67 and others.
