A scene like this. I approached them and asked if I could photograph them from a distance where I couldn't hear their conversation. They said, “Sure, why not?”

When I asked people who had moved to Berlin why they had made the move, the universal answer was that they felt more free there than anywhere.

I showed my map from an app that tracks where I walk to a new, good friend in Berlin. He said, “I've lived here for sixty years and you have seen more of Berlin than I ever have.

My first trip to Berlin in 2024. This is my first post to Facebook in almost exactly a year. I started to feel like posting was influencing my work in a way that I didn't want it to. So I took a good and long break.

Berlin was the last stop on a European photography trip for me and I intended to stay there for seven days. 25 days later I actually returned home. It was one of the most remarkable places I have ever photographed. The people were very open to being photographed by me and they each had such an interesting story to tell. But it wasn't only the people at all. The place is extraordinary.

Hopefully, in the next few weeks I will be able to show you that. Let me know what you think. And good to see you again 😃. Richard

Here's the third photo that I submitted to the competition in the last two posts. Only the first one will be in the show (see first post for details). I like the way these three look side-by-side. I have them printed large and hanging in my studio (24x36, 36x54 and 24x36).

I am very happy to share this news:

Congratulations! Your art has been selected for the 2025 Salon at the Triton!

It is with great pleasure that we inform you that your work has been juried into the Triton Museum of Art’s statewide 2D Art Competition & Exhibition, the 2025 Salon at the Triton.

This year’s competition was big, with over 2,300 submissions. As you can imagine, the juror’s task was difficult, but after much consideration our juror has selected 146 works for the exhibition, including your work.

There will be an opening reception for the exhibition on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. All are invited.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU AT THE OPENING
