It is the unplanned shots end up being my favorites. 🤍
Dad had the very important job of removing the binky. 😂 We had it all planned out — everybody ready, and on the count of three...
One... two... three... GO.
The binky came out. She squirmed for a minute. Dad gently laid his hand on her to calm her while I was still testing my lighting and getting everything ready.

And then... bam.

This.

That little hand. Dad’s hands gently comforting her. And LOOK AT THAT TINY SMILE. 🥹

I wasn’t posing it. I wasn’t even trying to create this moment. It just happened.

And those are so often the photographs I end up loving the most. 🤍

Okay… I ordered MORE candles and they are coming in today! 😂 More greenery is up. Vintage sheet music is going in. And I am officially obsessed with how the Piano House is coming together. This is just a before sneak of putting it in the works!

I am looking for **one couple** who would love to get dressed up and help me photograph this space the way I have been envisioning it!

This will be an evening golden-hour session at The Little Ranch Farm, with availability **THIS WEEK ONLY**. Because this is a model call and I will be using the images to showcase the new Piano House setup, the session will be offered at a **heavily discounted model rate**.

I have never made a post like this before on my photography page. But after yesterday, my heart says I should.

Yesterday, a potential client reached out to me about photographing a proposal. Before he even told me about his plans, he needed to ask me a question first.

He wanted to know if the fact that he was gay meant I wouldn't photograph him. That he would automatically be disqualified before even stepping in front of my lens.

Then, later that same day, another photographer reached out asking if I would second shoot a wedding with her. She had already asked more than several other photographers, and they had all turned her down because it was a same-sex wedding.

Two completely separate conversations. On the same day. And it weighed on my heart.

So I want to say something that maybe I've never needed to say here before.

I love Jesus.

And I love people.

Those two things do not conflict in my heart.

When you step in front of my camera, I am not here to judge your lifestyle, your past, your religion, your race, your politics, or whether your life looks like mine.

Gay. Straight. Divorced. Remarried. Black. White. Brown. Buddhist. Muslim. Christian. Democrat. Republican.

You are a person standing on the other side of my lens, and my job is to treat you with kindness and respect and to capture the love, joy, connection, and story you came to me trusting me to photograph.

My job is to love people.

And that's exactly what I intend to keep doing.
