As we work through making the book, there will be more names to add, including of course the competition winners who will be announced on 25th April, but we think we've given you a flavour of just how stunning this book is going to be and what a fantastic line up of photographers we have assembled. Our aim, as always, is to create the most beautiful book ever seen on the species.

Volcano Isluga in northern Chile perfectly reflected in a small lake. I enjoyed one of the rare moments of calm air on the normally very windy altiplano.

Dune magic at the northern Skeleton Coast, Namibia.
We were driving along the dry Hoanib River bed towards the coast when we had to cross large dune fields. In the distance fog was moving in and added to the eerie scene.

Although it was quite a struggle to get to Lake Logipi south of Lake Turkana/Kenya by a very rough track it was worth it. 3 miles before the lake the track was impassible and I found only a small clear rock-less patch to take off with my powered paraglider. Fortunately I managed to get airborne with the first try. The views from above during the next 2 hours were the best I have ever experienced. There were thousands of flamingos in the shallow reddish-brown water. One large group of these elegant pink birds formed a perfect circle while leaving behind a veil like pattern in the mud.
