High desert magic and post-wedding perfection✨

A New Mexico monsoon sky delivered the ultimate backdrop for Dhyana and her gorgeous horse, “Incredible.”

Dhyana was ready for the full re-creation ~ dress, veil, custom boots, and all. And yes, her new husband, Abe, was just as great a sport about doing it all over again!

Blistering heat, thick clouds of dust, dirt devils, and a monsoon storm are all par for the course in the high desert, yet the elements didn’t stop Cat Parks (second photo) and her “cowgirl” students from performing beautifully at her training clinic.

Weather always adds atmosphere to images ~ and these cowgirls worked through the grit with the utmost grace. More action to follow!

Light Falls Differently in Ocala ~ Part II

Commissioned portraiture by Erika Moore  with “Hollywood,” a 13-year-old American Warmblood, breeding stallion and a Hunter Derby rockstar! 🌟

The light in Ocala continues to surprise me.

Coming from the stark clarity of the New Mexico desert, I’ve found myself slowing down here ~ watching how the softer atmosphere shifts the mood, the movement, even the way the horses seem to inhabit the landscape.

Each session feels less about chasing light and more about settling into it.

Light Falls Differently in Ocala ~ Part I

Commissioned portraiture by Mandy Miller featuring her 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding, Shemya.

From the high desert of New Mexico to the lush landscape of Ocala, Florida, I became intrigued by how the quality of light uniquely shapes each landscape.

The desert feels sharp and exposed. Ocala moves differently ~ softer, slower, more atmospheric.

It took time to settle into the rhythm of the light and landscape here, allowing both myself and the work to evolve alongside it.
