Yes, I still photograph families! 🤍

While my feed has been filled with weddings and proposals lately, I’ve just been more intentional about sharing the faces of little ones on social media.

But behind the scenes, I’m still documenting all those sweet family moments! Happy to keep any family gallery private and include some faceless photos, just ask. 🤍

The goal is always to bring you back to the way it felt. 🤍

So what does that actually mean?

Calming energy at every step. Building a timeline around how you want your day to feel, not just a list of photos we need to take. Carving out alone time together. Joining your cocktail hour. Dancing with your shoes off. Being present with the people you love.

It means documenting more of these moments. The ones that might not normally make the “feed,” but absolutely belong in your gallery because they’re the moments that bring you right back.

The laughter. The chaos. The quiet. The people. The feeling of being completely surrounded by everyone you love.

Because years from now, I don’t just want you to remember what your wedding looked like.

I want you to remember how it felt. 🤍

And a little shoutout to my sweet daughter Kinley for capturing most of these moments alongside me. 🥹

This is the photographer equivalent of winning the lottery. 😭 Scroll.

When your clients text you a sonogram… You stop dead in your tracks and cry.

Getting to watch someone’s life unfold and document pieces of it along the way is one of the greatest privileges of this job.🤍

These moments are never “just another client” or “just another session” to me. I get invested. I remember your stories. I cheer for you long after I deliver your gallery.

It’s so much more than taking photos.

It’s getting invited into people’s lives and being trusted to document the moments that change everything.

And THAT will never get old. 🥹

There are some moments on a wedding day that don’t need any words. 🤍

Casey’s first look with her dad was one of them. The second he turned around, every emotion hit.

The tears, the laughter, the way he looked at his little girl in her wedding dress. These are the moments I love most about wedding days. The ones you can’t plan or recreate, you just get to be there for them.

And this was only the beginning of Casey + Ryan’s beautiful day. 🤍

I’m excited to be featured in Central Coast Voyager, sharing a little more about the story behind MacKenzie Rana Photography, how this business began, and what continues to matter most to me after all these years.

“My niche wasn’t a type of photography. It was people.”
And I think that still sums it up perfectly.

The proposals, weddings, families, milestones and all the moments in between are what I get to photograph—but the people I meet and the relationships built along the way are what have made this career so incredibly special.

From the beginning, I was so excited to follow them from their proposal to their wedding day. Getting to know them both through it and capture the most meaningful moments is such an honor. Every detail was so perfectly crafted and thought out for their family and friends, many of whom I have met along the way. This one was really special! Congrats Lucas and Lauren!
