SACRED MUSIC ... A week of beauty with Floriani at the Collegium. (๐‘ฑ๐’๐’‰๐’'๐’” ๐’๐’‚๐’•๐’†๐’”๐’• ๐’‡๐’Š๐’๐’Ž ๐’˜๐’๐’“๐’Œ)

Floriani Sacred Music is pursuing the great work of renewing Sacred Music in the Church today, a โ€œtreasure of inestimable value, greater even than that of any other art.โ€ (Sacrosanctum Concilium 112, Vatican II)

The Church has been very clear in her documents on liturgy that Sacred Music, and especially Gregorian chant, are themselves โ€œnecessary or integral parts of the solemn liturgy.โ€ (Sacrosanctum Concilium 112, Vatican II)

When one has the great pleasure of being exposed to the serenity of millennia old chant, the beauty of the great polyphonic choral works, and the majesty of the many orchestral pieces born in heart of the Church which have formed western culture, they are experiencing that great patrimony that most of the saints that you and I can name have experienced throughout the ages. We are able to experience that ever ancient, ever new beauty that deepened the saintsโ€™ experience of Godโ€™s presence in the liturgy, and fueled their spiritual lives.

It is no wonder, then, why the Church in her documents speaks to the importance and โ€œpre-eminenceโ€ of continued practice and teaching of Sacred Music so that it may be โ€œpreserved and fostered with great care.โ€ (Sacrosanctum Concilium 114, Vatican II)

We must go about this work, then, that the Church Herself is asking of us. In this age of modernity, our great liturgical patrimony has been almost completely lost to the eyes and ears of our parishioners. They are missing out on one of the greatest treasures that Holy Mother Church is telling us we ought to offer them.

Thatโ€™s why Floriani is setting out, through the work of the collegium hosted at the beautiful Thomas Aquinas College, to train these attendees to be able to lead in the revival of Sacred Music in their own parishes throughout the country. - John Girone

A soul that prays on Christmas Eve participates in a mystery that extends beyond time. You are not simply remembering an event that happened 2000 years ago. When you pray on this night, you stand with Mary and Joseph, with the shepherds and the Angels, with all the Saints throughout history who have watched and waited for the coming of Christ. You become part of an invisible communion that spans heaven and earth, past and present , time and eternityโ€ฆ Your prayer is woven into the great tapestry of salvation history adding your thread of faith to the magnificent design. (attributed to St. Teresa of Jesus ) COME LET US ADORE HIM!

Our final wedding of 2025 brought us somewhere we had long been told we must photograph. St. Lawrence in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania did not disappoint! FSSP North American Province: Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter

On a golden November day, the light unfolded perfectly. Soft autumn color. A glowing sunset along the river. The Capitol rising with stately presence behind it all. One of those days that feels composed rather than chaotic, as if Heaven itself approved the schedule.

Julia was an elegant bride in every sense of the word. She met her tall, handsome groom where so many Catholic love stories begin. At Church, in the choir loft. Voices lifted together in praise. So, it was only fitting that they chose the feast of St. Cecilia for their wedding day, the beloved patroness of sacred music. So intentional, these young Catholics!

St. Cecilia is often described as singing to God in her heart even amid suffering, reminding us that true music is not performance but prayer. Marriage is much the same. A daily offering. A harmony learned over time. Two voicesโ€ฆ distinct, yet ordered toward the same end.

St. Augustine tells us that to sing is to pray twice. Watching these two exchange vows within the ancient beauty of the Latin Mass, surrounded by sacred chant and soaring architecture, we were reminded that a Catholic marriage is meant to sound like something. Like reverenceโ€ฆLike joy... Like fidelity lived out loud.

May they make beautiful music together all the days of their marriage. All for His glory.

What a grace it was for John Girone and me to be invited to photograph and film His Eminence Cardinal Robert Sarah over three unforgettable daysโ€ฆdays that still echo in our hearts with gratitude.

A son of Guinea, formed under persecution, refined through silence and suffering, Cardinal Sarah has become one of the most respected voices in the Church today. Former Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship, he speaks with prophetic clarity about the sacred, about adoration, about kneeling before God. His words often return to the simple truth: โ€œThe liturgy must be oriented toward Godโ€ฆ It is not about us. It is about Him.โ€

How fitting then that our work began with Traditional Vespers at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia, the chant rising, incense lifting, the Cardinal leading souls heavenward.

Saturday brought a Sacred Music Conference at Princeton University and a book signing of his newest work, The Song of the Lamb.

And on Sunday, heaven opened again:

Cardinal Sarah in choir at a Traditional Latin High Mass at St. John the Baptist in Allentown, NJ, followed immediately by Holy Mass (Ad Orientam) at Princeton University Chapelโ€ฆculminating on the Feast of Christ the King.

As Johnny and I reviewed images, especially Johnnyโ€™s breathtaking film teaser of His Eminence incensing the altar and elevating Our Lord, Johnny paused and remarked, โ€œHere is a Prince of the Church before his King.โ€

That moment captured everything.

We will not forget his tender delight in blessing children, his profound interior stillness, his majestic reverence for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

And what has moved us deeply is the response from YOU on social media commentsโ€ฆmessages pouring in from Catholics around the world speaking of how Cardinal Sarahโ€™s books shaped their conversion, deepened their prayer, and strengthened their courage to stay faithful. His presence draws hearts upward. His leadership is quiet, but it is unmistakably for Christ. As these photographs reach people online, the response is overwhelming. Cardinal Sarah makes an impact โ€ฆ for Christ.

Cardinal Sarah once wrote:
โ€œWhen the liturgy is God-centered, it heals, elevates, and unites the soul.โ€
We witnessed that truth again and again throughout those 3 sacred days with him.

May God bless this holy man who touches hearts for Christ.
May he be strengthened, defended, and consoled as he leads the faithful toward deeper worship and surrender.

Let us pray for Cardinal Robert Sarah and for all shepherds who dare to proclaim, โ€œAdore God. Live for Him. Kneel before your King.โ€

All for His glory.

His Eminence, Cardinal Sarah, celebrating Mass at Princeton University (.institute) during his visit to the United States to launch his new book โ€œThe Song of the Lamb.โ€

Getting to meet and film with the Cardinal two weeks ago was one of the greatest blessings of this year. I was deeply impacted by his book โ€œThe Power of Silenceโ€ so it was a great pleasure to be able to meet him and thank him for his many gifts to the Church.

God bless Cardinal Sarah for his faith and fidelity to the Church!

Canโ€™t wait to share more from his visit to the U.S. - John Girone

At the Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa something extraordinary unfolded before our lenses. We have photographed many Traditional Latin Mass weddings over the years and we have been blessed to know Fr. Kick of the FSSP North American Province: Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter and several families who were present that day. Yet that was not how this beautiful bride found us. She discovered our work on Instagram Mass Photographer and was so moved by the images of the Beauty of the Traditional Latin Mass that she showed them to her friends and said please drive me to one of these Masses.

We know the power of SACRED BEAUTY. We have seen again and again how the reverence of the Church and the grace of the liturgy can lift hearts and open souls. But to stand there and hear this story with our own ears was something that left us humbled and in awe.

And what a home this Cathedral is. Its soaring architecture... its golden light... its sense of the eternal made every moment feel like a glimpse into Heaven. Lucy and Sam share a faith that radiates through every gesture and every prayer. Their wedding day was truly a testimony of grace and a witness to what the Sacrament of Marriage can reveal when it is lived within the radiant tradition of the Church.

May God continue to use the beauty of their wedding and the beauty of the Mass to call others into His Church. We are grateful beyond words that He allowed our work to play even the smallest part in their Faith journey and Lucy's conversion.

Thank you, Lucy and Sam for bringing Johnny and me to Oklahoma to witness and preserve the story of your Wedding Sacrament. All for His glory and for the love of the Catholic faith that has the power to transform hearts through beauty.

November, the month of the Holy Souls, invites us to step into the tender silence between heaven and earth, where the Requiem echoes, and the veil grows thin.
In the incense rising, in the chant of Dies Irae, in the flicker of candlelight upon the altar, the Church Militant lifts her heart in love for the Church Suffering.

Each frame from this All Soulsโ€™ Latin High Mass bears witness to that sacred exchange โ€ฆthe beauty of mercy offered through the Holy Sacrifice, the solemn hope that light perpetual may shine upon them.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis.
May their souls, and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. FSSP North American Province: Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter
