Thankful for mornings in the sand with our two youngest baby’s who Id never dreamed would exist. I thought it would just be me and Baby A forever, and I was totally okay with that because we already felt complete. I always said anyone who ever came in would just be the cherry on top 🍒...little did I know we are now a whole damn ice cream sundae now 😆. Watching all three girls love each other, even with 8 and 9 years between them, has seriously been the most magical experience. Alice and Goldie want to sleep together every night and play together like best friends. Viola is just starting to keep up with them and they all make sure to include everyone. It’s wild to think what their relationship will be like in 5, 10, 30 years. Thankful for days like this that slow down and soak in.

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be highlighting different national parks and stops we made along our trip with ..i love looking back and by doing so, looking forward to our next adventures. We had heard that in order to go to Cathedral Rock, and actually find parking, you would need to get there at the crack of dawn. While we had planned on that happening, but sometimes life (or three kids) happen and you just dont make it. Or take a shower. Or eat a proper breakfast. The trail heads were slammed and while we were sad to miss it, we also knew there were plenty of other trail heads that would not disappoint. Id even go as far as to say that I'm very glad that it worked out that way because afterwards, we learned that Cathedral Rock may be semi difficult for people carrying chunky babies on their backs. The Bell Rock observation trail did not disappoint. There was plenty of parking for our RV and far less people. The babies enjoyed the easy but uphill hike and everyone loved watching all the mountain bikers coming down hill. Maybe not Nick, but only because he was jealous to not be on one himself, ha. Sorry Dad! From there we stayed at a little campground in Cottonwood Arizona on the Verde River.

3 little girlies who make life so much more fun. Tonight we painted, listened to records, and made TikToks 😆. Alice and I started a vision board for her room redo (basically all ) and I ordered some Valentine’s Day books for the baby’s. I almost ordered one called “Harry the heart had a lot of farts” bc it looked funny but my inner southern lady said absolutely not 😆. We are trying to figure out the next place we want to travel stateside until we can plan a trip OOC. any suggestions welcome!!

I don’t want you to see photos on my page and think things are perfect and wonder why they aren’t for you. They are far from it. I view Instagram as a landing page for positivity. After all we don’t stick the sh*tty days in scrap books ..or even photograph them at all, or at least I don’t. can be a *real* as***le. A REAL as***le. but he also takes care of me when I put the wrong contact solution in my eye and burn my cornea (this am).. or when I’m sick with the flu for the 3rd time in two years..or when I have back to back complicated pregnancies 🙃. He claims to hate photo shoots but does them every time and even drives an hour to pick up a specific shirt I want him to wear that’s only available in Destin. Sometimes he even wears no shirt at all even though he feels like a tool doing it. We fight like cats and dogs, have gotten (I think) a lot better about it, but have always made up quickly. Just know - things aren’t perfect and they aren’t supposed to be. At least not for me bc I’d be bored as hell.

I’m ready for routine again. Hugs, concerts, dinner parties, shopping, kisses, restaurants, did I say CONCERTS. I’m ready for all of our kids to be able to go to school.. safely. Unmasked smiles and skin that isn’t chapped from hand sanitizer. The fear of breathing on someone and killing them to be gone. Being tested for the millionth time today only to hear we would need to be tested again in a few days. I don’t ever want to see a qtip again 😂. Thankful our results were negative and after all the messages I got today especially, that these complaints aren’t from a hospital bed. Sending love, healing light and naked baby butts to everyone.

The babies spent 90% of our road trip with in the back of these deuter kid packs from . Before we left, added them to his “have to have” list and I sort of rolled my eyes. “Couldn’t we just throw them in our front carriers?” I needed more money towards the trips wardrobe and less towards another carrier. Ummm no, y’all. Tried it and it hurt like hell, haha. First and foremost, these are made for comfort for both you and babe, and I hate to say it but they look damn good in photographs, too, haha. For a long time I failed to see how important the work I was doing was for other families. I always enjoyed photography and felt nostalgic when looking at my mothers; but it wasn’t until I had my arms full of babies and a dying father that I wanted a film crew following me around. I feel most loved by when I look up and he’s secretly photographing me with my dad during a visit, or while im playing with the kids on the floor. I want to capture EVERY LAST MEMORY. I’ve been looking at big girl beds for Goldie today and spent the ride home from school talking to Alice about puberty/middleschool/boy/every other hard thing this age brings. I know Viola is only 15 months old but it feels like yesterday that we were bringing her home to a one year old toddling around and an 8 year old bouncing off the walls. Its all so fleeting and temporary and photographs are the only way we can freeze any of it. My biggest advice to anyone else feeling the same way is to make sure YOU are in the frame. Schedule the shoot (regardless of how much your kids ...or partner whine), get the photos, and hang them all over your walls.
