Just prior to the start of the new year, I stumbled upon a metaphoric quote about bees that resonated with me so deeply that I wrote it down to be the focal point of my year that I can come back to to ground myself:
“The bees aren’t going to go away, but they are going to change with you. Sometimes, they will be chaotic. Sometimes, they will rest. Sometimes, they will give you sweet honey, and sometimes they will remind you of how much love can sting, but if you can find a home within yourself and make peace with your bees, you will be alight.” Whitney Hanson 🐝
This quote resonates with me so deeply because my life has been a whirlwind of challenges, repeatedly turning everything upside down and inside out. Along this journey, I unintentionally carry the weight of past experiences, akin to buzzing “bees”, stirring up chaos and pain. Despite these challenges, I am determined not to let them hinder me. I know that to move forward, I must find peace with my past. This morning, as I picked up my camera without a specific aim, serendipity struck. In my front yard, I discovered small flowers with bees buzzing around. Capturing these moments allowed me to appreciate the beauty of these miraculous creatures and, in turn, make some peace with my past. Grateful for the unexpected opportunity the universe provided.
