One of the most debated pieces of equipment in freediving is freediving fins. Having used and tested over 40, I decided to show you some of my favorite fins, from ones that I use for rough conditions to ones that I favor when going deep.
One of the features I look for in freediving fins is progressive blades. These are softer and more flexible blades that make deep diving or lengthy pool dives a breeze. Over a longer dive, they can easily outperform other types of fins, however, they take a little bit more time to build up speed compared to their counterpart: reactive fins.
Reactive fins are your old-school type of fins that are stiffer and produce a lot of feedback for your legs as your kick. Nowadays, they are probably much more suitable for spearfishing than freediving since you normally would not need the bigger initial power they produce.
Watch the video and let me know any questions you have. Also please let me know in the comments what do you think of the length of the video: should it be longer or shorter?
* Note: by the end, I compare the Cetma Mantra to CarbonioGFT Force 1 and I point to the blade on the table. However, the one on the table is Carbonio GFT Nano 3D. The Force 1 is an amazing progressive blade, however, I did not have it on hand.
