Do I photograph weddings? I sure do, but I photograph what I like to call, ' non-traditional' weddings. The love stories that have a whole lot of personality put into the start of the marriage. The ceremonies at a courthouse? Elopements? Intimate affairs planned just before a deployment? The kind of small parties where love just oozes out from the doors?! That's where you'll find me in my element. 😍

Man I love photographing love.

Just know this, you show up with a head of hair looking like this on one of your family members and I will 100% be taking a photo I can stare at after the fact to drool over. Oh those sweet curls on a baby head are one of my most favorite things ever. 🥰

I was so lucky to get to attend a photography retreat last weekend to talk about marketing strategy. It's a topic I could talk about for hours and I'm so grateful I was invited to come! As we all got ready for our photo session in a gorgeous Nashville field I turned to the other photographers and said, '

"What do you tell people to wear on their feet?!" 😆😆

I know it seems like such a silly question but as someone who spends the summer months with clients on the beach, I have all but forgotten what footwear advice you give when it comes to help with styling. 🙃 How lucky are we to not even have to think about footwear when we're running through the waves on the sand?!

These Black and White Expression Sessions from the spring are still giving me all the life. Likely all this Vitamin D from summer break means my kids wake up looking 2 feet taller, and smarter then me each day. It's heartbreaking while also being so sweet and I love watching them grow. And I also hate it so much. Stopping time for a quick moment? It's truly priceless.

I'm getting my calendar organized so I can offer some of these sessions during the fall. Maybe another pop-up at a special location? Maybe I do some more in-home mini sessions?! Not sure yet, but if you're interested be sure and message me today so you can sway me to organize these sessions for the way that works best for you. 😁😁

Are you sick of hearing me saying how much I love photographing newborns in-home just yet? When I was newly postpartum I could barely think about leaving the house to get diapers without getting overwhelmed. I feel so much gratitude every time someone allows me to come into their home to capture those first few weeks. I make sure I wear only soft clothes, wash my hands immediately upon arriving and do my best to keep my attitude calm. I'm coming into your space and I don't take that lightly.

Now with all that being said, if you've got a baby on the way I hope you'll let me come into your home because I've got an open calendar and need to keep filling my cup with all those new baby smells. 😉

Somewhere along the way, we stop taking pictures with our sisters.

As kids, there are albums full of us. Matching outfits. Missing front teeth. Arms wrapped around each other on family vacations.

Then we grow up.

There are jobs and marriages and children and busy calendars. Suddenly years have passed, and most of our photos together are quick selfies at birthdays or blurry pictures someone snapped at Thanksgiving.

But sisterhood deserves to be documented long after childhood.

Because your sister is often the person who remembers every version of you. The little girl with scraped knees. The teenager with big dreams. The woman you're becoming. She's witnessed your entire story and somehow keeps loving you through every chapter.

One day, these photos won't just be pictures of two adults standing on a beach together. They'll be proof of a lifelong friendship, shared memories, and a relationship that has quietly shaped who you both are.

Take the picture with your sister. The years are moving faster than you think.

I was so excited to get to capture these engagement photos for this sweet couple. We were meeting just days before their wedding but while putting together all those final details, and meeting to host all their guests they agreed that taking a brief hour to capture some photos before all the excitement really kicked off would be important. And when it came time to find the perfect location? We all agreed that spending some time in Hampton Park, where they had often walked between classes at the Citadel would make for the best backdrop.

The weather was perfection. The flowers were in bloom and these two couldn't stop the love that emanated from them. 💙🤍💜

As an extended family photographer in Charleston, I can tell you this: these photos become more valuable every single year.

Today, they might feel like a fun way to document a family vacation. The cousins are giggling, grandparents are sneaking extra hugs, and everyone is trying to keep the little ones from eating handfuls of sand.

But years from now? These images become proof.

Proof of who was there. Proof of how everyone laughed together. Proof that Grandma still carried snacks in her purse and Grandpa still gave piggyback rides on the beach.

Multi-generational family photos aren't really about getting everyone to smile at the camera. They're about preserving your family's history while you're still living it.

If you're planning a family reunion or vacation in Charleston, don't skip the photos. One day, these Charleston beach family pictures may become some of the most treasured images your family owns.

One day, you'll look at these photos and realize they don't fit quite so perfectly in the crook of your arm anymore.

The wispy newborn hair has grown in.

The tiny fingers that once wrapped around yours are reaching for toys and turning book pages.

The newborn stage moves so incredibly fast.

I know scheduling photos during those first few weeks can feel impossible. You're tired, you're learning each other, and the days all blur together.

But I have never once heard a parent say they regretted taking newborn photos.

I have heard hundreds say, "I'm so glad we did this."

Planning family photos on vacation? Here's my biggest tip:

Don't save the beach photos until the last night of your trip.

The kids are tired. Parents are exhausted. Everyone is sunburned.

I always recommend scheduling your family photos earlier in your vacation. If weather changes our plans, we have flexibility, and everyone still has plenty of energy to enjoy the experience.

This little tip makes a huge difference.
