Another Merit!

I’m excited to share that Where Steel Meets Wind earned a Merit in the August PPA Merit Image Review!

This image took a little patience. I knew the train was coming through, so I found my spot and waited—three hours in the Wyoming wind—for one opportunity to capture it. Sometimes photography is being in the right place at the right time. Other times, it’s choosing the place and being stubborn enough to stay there. 😊

Every Merit is especially meaningful to me because it brings me one step closer to earning my PPA Master of Photography degree. There is always more to learn, and I’m enjoying the challenge of pushing myself and my photography a little further each time.

And yes… I’d probably sit in the wind for three hours again

The final portion of the air show on Sunday included new planes for trick pilots. Did you know there is a school for that in Denver - MSU Flight School! These young people have all the fun. The planes are much faster and it was definitely harder for me to get them in focus! The most impressive part of this show was this was a female pilot!
