Back in October, I spent a week in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with friends. While exploring Grand Teton National Park, chasing sunsets and spotting wildlife, I noticed a couple with a camera on a tripod. Their elegant outfits, flowers, and a beautiful wedding dress made it clear they were eloping. Just the two of them, fully present, celebrating their love in such an intimate way.

I quickly realized they were taking photos using the camera’s timer. The photographer in me wanted to run over and help, but the people pleaser in me hesitated. I didn’t want to interrupt such a private moment. As we got closer, my friends and I congratulated them and shared how beautiful everything was. That felt like my cue. I asked if they would like a little help and told them I was a photographer and would love to capture a few images for them.

They said yes. We spent about ten minutes creating portraits that framed their love, with the Tetons as the backdrop. These are the moments that remind me why I love photography so much.
