A beautifully designed space can fall flat if it is photographed without an understanding of how light shapes mood, texture, depth, and atmosphere. The right lighting does more than illuminate a room, it reveals the architect’s vision and the designer’s intent. Thoughtful lighting is what transforms a photograph from a record of a space into the experience of it.

Wandering around the Velvet Mill in Stonington Connecticut, I came across this sweet vignette with furniture designed by .homewares. Just beautiful.

This nook was designed by Lexi Lemire Interiors to maximize seating in an intimate way. They added the same textures and warm neutrals seen throughout the rest of the house while adding just a touch of coastal whimsy with the sailboat cushions.
