Two years ago, I took a trip to the Cotswolds that changed the way I saw photography.

Until then, most of my work had centered around documenting people. Being surrounded by so much beauty in a place that I'd never been before gave me the chance to slow down, pay attention, and photograph with purpose. Somewhere along the way, it reignited my love for documenting not only people, but also places and the details that make them worth remembering.

When I came home, I began looking at my own surroundings differently. Savannah is arguably among the most beautiful places in the world (not that I’m biased or anything), and I started taking my camera with me simply because I wanted to. I wandered. I noticed the light, the architecture, the trees, and the quiet details I had passed countless times before. I took pictures without a session to prepare for or a client waiting for them. I was creating just because I loved it.

For a while I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with this renewed passion. Then, a few months ago, an idea began to take shape. It gave me a way to share the photographs I was creating alongside the portrait work I already love, and it has grown into a passion project I’ve been working on ever since.

I’ll be sharing more in the next couple of weeks, and I’m so excited to finally share this new piece of my photography with y’all.

This sweet little guy was not quite sure about me at first, but by the end of his session, we were buddies, and he gave me some of the sweetest smiles. We photographed him on his own, with his baby sister, and captured a few of her by herself, too. Also, how cute is this little brown chair I found at Tapleys? It was perfect for him!

Mom chose outfits from my client closet for both children, and they looked absolutely precious. Having wardrobe available takes one more thing off of moms' plates. They can bring their kids to the studio, change them when they arrive, and skip shopping for special outfits just for their session. There are even wardrobe options for moms who will be photographed, too!

All of that is exactly what Simplicity Sessions are designed for: making it easier to update your children’s portraits and document the milestones you don’t want to forget. These shorter weekday sessions are perfect when you want beautiful, meaningful photographs without planning a full session.

My fall dates are beginning to fill, and now is the time to start planning if you’d like to give portraits as Christmas gifts. Many holiday lab deadlines fall in early November, and I have some beautiful new gift options this year that grandparents will love! 🤍

I’ve had the idea for a session like this in my head for a while now. One that could work beautifully for portraits of a family with a new baby, whether their baby was two weeks or two months old.

This sweet two month old, his big sister, and parents gave me the opportunity to bring that idea to life and show families that even if they didn’t have portraits taken during the traditional newborn time period, they haven’t missed their chance to create beautiful, meaningful images of this special season of life.

I love how the simplicity of this session allows the connection between each family member and their newest little one to come through so beautifully.

If you think you’ve missed the window for traditional newborn portraits, or you simply love the look and feeling of a session like this for your newborn, I’d love to chat with you.

I’ve been photographing this sweet family for four years, and I always love getting to see them and catch up. Their oldest and I usually spend at least part of the session laughing and chasing each other around, and this time I got to meet the sweetest new addition to their family. 🤍

Their new baby girl was three months old for these portraits, and this session is such a good reminder that you haven’t missed your chance for beautiful pictures just because the newborn stage has passed. Two and three months bring sweet expressions, more eye contact, and so much personality beginning to show.

I’m currently looking for a few families with babies around 2–3 months old for a project I’m working on. Sessions will need to take place within the next two weeks.

A little life + business update, with a few of Miller’s 15th birthday pictures. 🤍

I’m officially back after taking last week off, and I think I’ve caught up on emails and messages. If you reached out and I somehow missed you, please send me another message!

It’s been a whirlwind around here. Miller turned 15 last Saturday, started HIGH SCHOOL this week, and got his learner’s permit yesterday. Lots of big milestones all at once, and of course I had to get him in the studio for a few pictures to document 15. 🥹

And because that apparently wasn’t enough for one week, today we discovered what appears to be a leak in our roof. When it rains, it pours...and with all the rain we’ve had in Savannah lately, I mean that quite literally. 😭

Someone is coming to look at it tomorrow, so send some good roof vibes my way because I am officially exhausted with all the things. 😵‍💫

I'm so excited to share that this fall's Children's Heirloom Portrait Event will be held at on Saturday, September 26!

If you've been to The Horseshoe Crab, you already know what a special place it is. The shop is beautifully curated with classic children's clothing, women's clothing, thoughtful gifts, home décor, accessories, and so much more. They carry many of the clothing brands I frequently recommend to my clients, making this partnership feel like such a natural fit.

I'm looking forward to welcoming so many sweet little ones into this beautiful space to create portraits that celebrate the beauty of childhood.

Appointments are limited, and booking is now open through the link in my bio. I'd love to see you there. 🤍

Some things never go out of style.

A classic day gown. Soft white linens. A peacefully sleeping newborn.

It's no secret that I love a portrait that feels timeless. When I'm planning a newborn session, my goal is never to create something trendy. I want to create something that will feel just as beautiful 20 years from now as it does today.

That's why I keep the focus simple. Your baby doesn't need elaborate props or busy setups. Just a beautiful, classic portrait that lets this season speak for itself.

My hope is that these are the portraits you and your family treasure for generations.

Your newborn portraits aren't just about documenting your baby's first days. They're also about documenting the beginning of your family's next chapter.

One day, your baby will be running through the house, climbing into your lap, and insisting they're "not little anymore." When that day comes, these photographs will remind you of just how tiny they once were. How they fit in your arms. How your family looked in those first days together.

That's why parent portraits are such an important part of every newborn session. They're more than beautiful photographs. They're a reminder of where your story together began.

Years from now, these images won't just show you what your baby looked like. They'll bring you back to this season and remind you what it felt like to hold them when they were still brand new. 🤍
