I've only "found" photography in the last 6 years. I see art in everything, so I don't know why I missed this. Travel photography is my #1 passion.

I recently started a photography website, somewhere to share galleries of all the lovely places I've been and seen. Even more recently, I've started selling some of these images on stock photography websites. I never get more freaked out then when having to do portraiture. Landscape and wildlife don't get upset if the images come out unflattering. This was an attempt to do a family portrait at a reunion. I knocked the focus from auto to manual accidentally and the first series of images were fuzzy. I was embarrassed and heart broken to tell everyone we needed a do-over and I still wasn't happy.
I've been writing a blog about personal growth and it's funny how I am able to tie photography to the journey. I guess we all need something that challenges and humbles us.

It's been almost a year since I've posted pictures here. Sorry about that. Must be pandemic related, but I just haven't had a muse.

Looking back over some of my favorite images, a theme of "pathways" emerges. I love the idea of drawing someone into a scene, creating a desire to see around the bend or over the ridge. I look for those compositions now, but admit they happened quite organically in the beginning.
We should never suppress the intuitive artful process.

Nothing makes me feel more "normal" than getting to travel and be around other people once more. Keeping it safe and trying to be wise, but happy to see life and movement once again.

The architecture in Savannah draws from the varied people groups who settled there. While common styles are Federal and Georgian, you can also find Italianate, Second French Empire, even Gothic Revival. All of it, frame worthy.

We broke up our trip to Florida with an overnight in Savannah, Georgia. I hadn't visited since I was very young. So much has changed and developed, but those moss covered trees remain iconic as ever. Historic downtown.

Wish Wednesday. That's a thing, right? Wishing it was safe to travel everywhere right now, but we're getting there slowly. Better safe than sorry.
