She said it quietly.

“I almost didn’t come.”

Not because she didn’t want the portraits.

She did.

That was the part she had a hard time explaining.

She wanted to feel beautiful again.
She wanted to have one photograph of herself that didn’t make her pick herself apart.
She wanted to remember this season of her life in a way that felt soft and honest.
