Two tiny feet.
Two very different hands.
One very loved little baby.

One of my favorite things about newborn photography is documenting the details that change so quickly.

The tiny toes.
The little wrinkles.
The way a newborn's entire foot can fit inside a parent's hand.

I especially love these because Mom is holding one foot and Dad is holding the other. Separately they're beautiful. Together they tell a story.

Years from now those little feet won't fit in anyone's hand anymore, but these photographs will always remind them just how small this season was. 🥹

Even when detail shots aren't included in a session package, I love capturing them when time allows because they so often end up being some of my clients' favorite images.

Pretty sure I finished Penelope’s sitter session gallery a couple weeks ago now and somehow I never shared these 😭✨

Sitter sessions honestly might be one of the most underrated ages to photograph.

The chunky legs.
The personality starting to come through.
The proud little sitting poses before they suddenly decide crawling is more important than cooperating 😂

I love this stage because babies are finally starting to interact with me (or not 🤣), smile, look around, and show off all those little expressions that change so fast.

And yes… I will forever love creating colorful, playful setups while still keeping everything soft and timeless.

Now booking milestone sessions, cake smashes, newborns, and studio family portraits this summer before fall chaos sneaks up on all of us again 🍂

And honestly? I LOVE discounting milestone sessions for my returning newborn clients because getting to watch these babies grow up is one of my favorite parts of this job. Just ask me. ❤️

She said yes.

What started as a beautiful lighthouse tour off the coast of Maine turned into one of the biggest moments of their lives. There’s something so magical about photographing real emotion as it unfolds — the nerves, the surprise, the way they instantly forgot anyone else was even around them.

And honestly… these Maine waters, the fort in the background, the wind, the little boat ride… it all felt straight out of a movie. 🌊

Yesterday I got the chance to step out of my newborn studio and onto the water for something completely different. 🌊⚓️
This couple from Baton Rouge thought my son and I were just other passengers on a lighthouse tour looking for wildlife and enjoying the views around Portland Harbor…

Meanwhile I was secretly following them around with cameras waiting for the moment he dropped to one knee. 😭💍

She had absolutely NO idea.

Honestly these are the kinds of sessions I dream about doing more of. Travel. Tourists. Real moments. Emotion. Storytelling. Maine experiences people will remember forever. ✨

And somehow in the middle of all of this we also celebrated my husband Jason’s 40th birthday yesterday too. ❤️

Now I’m over here culling the gallery smiling like an idiot reliving the whole thing. More photos coming soon because I am completely in love with this gallery already.

Don’t get me wrong… we got SO many beautiful photos.
But this setup?

This was the vision.

Mom and Dad requested firefighter helmet photos before the session and I planned basically the whole setup around making this work safely and beautifully. And honestly… I was nervous because this was my first time ever posing a baby like this.
But the second he settled onto the helmet I KNEW.

These were going to be special.

There’s just something about tiny newborn features against something so big, worn, strong, and meaningful that gets me every time I look them.

Now I’m sitting here thinking about all the possibilities I want to create in the future.

Cowboy hats.
Construction helmets.
Astronaut helmets.
Family stories turned into artwork. ✨

These are the kinds of images that feel priceless years from now when they can no longer fit in small containers.

I may have panicked a little when this Dad walked into my studio carrying TWO boxing championship belts 😂🥊

First of all… they were SO much heavier than I expected. I don’t know what I thought championship belts weighed, but definitely not “instant upper body workout.” 😅

But honestly? I’m obsessed with how these turned out.
This is exactly why I always tell parents to bring meaningful items if they want to. Some of my favorite images happen when we mix your real life, your story, and your personality into the session.

And can we talk about how tiny baby looks next to those belts?

Strong dad. Tiny newborn. Big legacy energy.

Jason and I actually had gym class together back in high school years ago, which somehow makes this whole session feel even more special and full circle to me. 🥹

What a cool thing for this little guy to look back on someday
And honestly… now Jason has the greatest title of them all: Dad. 🥹

We also did some images with baby in a Portland firefighter hat and I cannot WAIT to share those either. 🚒🥹

Are you having a baby turning one soon? 🎂✨
The first year goes by in a blur of sleepless nights, tiny outfits, first giggles, first teeth, and somehow… suddenly they’re smashing cake and learning to walk.
One year milestone sessions are one of my favorite ways to celebrate everything your family survived and accomplished this year too. We can keep it simple and timeless or go all out with colors, balloons, custom setups, splash tubs, and cake.
We can create something cozy indoors in my studio or head outside for a more playful golden hour feel depending on your family, your style, and your little one’s personality.

I know parents already have a million things to think about, so I try to take as much stress off your plate as possible. Honestly, all I really want you to do is show up with a fed, clean, and hopefully rested baby… and I’ll take care of the rest. 💫

I love creating sessions that actually feel like your baby — playful, bold, sweet, curious, messy, shy, wild… all of it.
