Twenty years ago, I took a chance on a tiny studio space and a big idea.
Today marks my 20th year in business.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of photographing politicians, high school seniors, families, proposals, weddings, businesses, sports teams, and commercial projects. I’ve photographed newborns… and years later, their senior portraits. Watching my clients grow over time has been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey.
This work has taken me across the country and even to the Bahamas. But what means the most is the trust of my clients, some of whom have been with me since my very first year.
One moment from early in my career still makes me smile. After a fun session with a 7-year-old, his mom was writing a check for the session. He looked at the checkbook, looked at me, and said:
“Woah… you get paid for this? That is awesome!”
Twenty years later, I still feel the same way.
