Went out during the last big wave day (1/17) hoping to catch some surfers at Higgins. When I realized the conditions were rough I drove to another spot only to find some thrill-seeking kiteboarders harnessing the intense wind. Such a blast to watch and his buddies catch air! I gotta try this one day!

As the moon rose over the water tonight, an otherworldly glow projected onto the roiling sea below. The lunar glow only allowed me to capture Headlight as a silhouette. What a privilege to live so close to this icon!

Mid-Coast Maine recently had an unexpected visitor in the form of a Steller's Sea Eagle. I ventured out to Georgetown to join in the spectacle of this rare bird of East Asia. And of course, the camera came along. The bird was perched on Wood Island (a little over 1 mile from my vantage point). Despite the rain and the distance, viewing this majestic animal among friendly enthusiasts will remain in my memory for some time!

This shows the 5 mile distance from the Martin’s Point Bridge to Portland Head Light. The first lighthouse is the Spring Point Ledge Light and the ferry is the Casco Bay Lines Machigonne II.

Newest tinker project!
Been having a blast constructing the new mobile live-stream rig! The new Atem Mini Pro is a game changer for multi-cam coverage. I’m also really digging the ability to incorporate graphic overlays. That, coupled with the workhorsepower of the Atomos Ninja V as a multi view monitor and the ability to record straight from the switcher, has made our recent live events a breeze.

How time flies! Just 4 years ago we crowded into Goosetown Tavern with Judge Roughneck and Angelo Moore (Angelo Moore & The Dr Maddvibes and Fishbone) to shoot this trip. One of the earlier steps in our journey but the most memorable!

This is a bittersweet use of our footage by NEWS CENTER Maine and NBC10 Boston. Sending love to the Friends of Seguin Island Light Station for the speedy restoration of power to the island. We wish our aerial shots were for a happier story. Looking forward to returning to the island soon.

Seguin Island Light Station in Phippsburg may never be the same, since its power cable was cut after being deemed "unsafe."
