My hot take. Sigh, Carousels get more traffic, more shares and more saves than reels. This has been happening for some time now. Great for Photographers!

Carousel’s for me are at 50-100k with higher engagement.

Reels for me are at 10 - 50k unless you link to a URL or YouTube anything that takes you away from IG tanks! So promoting anything other than new followers and getting them to stay here does not work.

When you post it grows significantly, IF your non-followers start to engage, so if you are creating content for new followers, Instagram is more likely share you provided your new followers are interested in your content.

If you are posting to your regular followers to speak to your crowd, unless they are highly engaged in your content, it will not show it to your whole audience a painful truth.

Last week I did my quarterly survey to photographers 50% said I’m currently growing my business. 25% said they are pivoting. (This is a big number and always a sign of the times) and 25% said “I feel lost right now”

93% said they need help with Sales and Marketing. Is in person networking the only thing that’s working right now?

This shoot was the pilot. I started out recording my photo shoots and then I invited awesome Photographers like Tina | DC Photographer Shannon K Dougherty Photography Rashmi Gill NYC Portrait Photographer Leslie Andrews Photography and KC Portait Bo***ir Photographer + Mentor - Mitzi to come here so I could feature them doing what they do. Now it’s a thing. Do you want to be featured?

Next month Nov 12th we will add these featured shoots to the LIGHT show on the storyteller network.

‪When was the last time you moved your body with complete joy?‬

‪Just wrapped a featured photo shoot with the extraordinary P R I S C I L L A P E R E Z I wanted to share these because this is how I feel right now. ‬

‪Tonight, I am having a little special gathering watch party for my new show, I spent yesterday mostly crying. Not because I’m overwhelmed or nervous but because I’ve started to send out the episodes to the ladies as they are finishing the editing process and watching them watch these is bringing me to my knees. ‬

She even called me out from the stage and said Sue, are you here? How hard did I fight you not to show these! Because even women at the top of their field, feel like they are too much and that is crazy to me.

Thank you to Lindsey I know you will laugh that I’m throwing you under the bus and also thank you to Lacee Green you are a force and I knew you would come through.  The lesson here is WHY? Why Do we struggle to promote ourselves because I believe we’re taught we can be successful but only if we make it look effortless, humble and not to self important. I say enough! The time has come now more than ever before for women to stand strong on stages and tell their stories.   And also a huge thanks to Millers for these beautiful big prints EVERYONE loved them.
